The short night that Wisley had spent at his father's home had passed. The silver moon going to rest while the daily sun starts its day. New light of dawn seeps through the blinds with dust particles appearing in the ray, coming into contact with Wisley's damped face.
But the growing brightness of the morning sun did not awake the sleeping boy nor did the sweating of his skin, only what did, was the sudden cry of his phone.
With fast body movements he turned the annoyingly beeping sound off only for it to wail out again.
"fuck." Wisley hissed, letting out a groan of distress. He turned around and finally answered the phone call he was receiving early in the morning.
"Jesus, Wisley I've been calling you since yesterday!" the voice of a woman he knew to well reached his ears, making him groan even more. "mom, just calm down. it was a busy day ok, and i forgot-."
"Forgot? you forgot? I'm worried Wisley, you could've at least sent me a text." the upset voice of Wisley's mother rambled on.
Wisley knew that before arriving at his destination, he had promised his mother that he would give her a call, making sure that the protective woman would not worry to much. But like he said, he forgot.
The boy held his sweaty forehead, after hearing his mom sighting. She would have gone on and started another fierce argument but Wisley had to cut her off when he heard two soft knocks at his door.
"breakfast Ley," his father's voice said. And with only those two words, Wisley finally made up his mind to stop the call. "mom...I'm sorry gotta go eat breakfast. I'll call you later, I love you."
He could still hear his mother's voice calling his name, even after ending the call. She might be upset later on, but he didn't need her rambling so early in the morning.
Even after sleeping for more than eight hours, Wisley was still tired. But he was also relieved that he did not spend another night having a nightmare. Instead it was long and undisturbed.
He shut his heavy eyes and slid a hand on his face, trying to shed off the sleep that he is still feeling. Then finally taking the effort by carefully standing up with the crunches under his armpit.
He walked towards the window, opening the blinds, letting the light of nature illuminate the dark room. the sun was standing higher now, the greenery better seen by the eyes again and birds flying to trees.
Wisley would never get bored looking at the work of nature from his two story window, he could endlessly stare at it. But by the sound of two more knocks that startled the boy, his gazing through his window changed to one at the door.
And the calm moment that the early morning gaze had brought for him turned into one of a dark aura that came as swiftly as a thick curtain velvet from a great theatre.
Tap tap tap
And in that exact moment of time, when the sounds were heard, Wisley was not standing in his room anymore instead his steady gaze was looking at the front door of the house.
the room he was standing in was dim, the quietness being disturbed by a single flicking of the ceiling lamp. And just like any other dreams, Wisley could not move a muscle.
slowly and unexpectedly two more knocks came from the door and as fast as the sound stopped, others started making their ways through the house. The vicious rattle of the door and the shrieks made Wisley tense up with chills, his mind screaming at him to wake up.
"Wisley! WISLEY! WISLEY!" the voice kept repeating after another, while the handle of the door was being brutally twisted in many ways.
Wisley tightly shut his view from the door but opened them back again after a heavy clank sound from outside made its way to his ears, followed by a single mutter of "let me in."
the door handle was forcefully broken from outside and Wisley could see, he could see how the door started moving, how it creaked as it was slowly being pushed for a much more wide entrance. Wisley was not prepared to see the thing that was behind the door. his heart was beating and he was sweating, he couldn't breathed, he felt stuffed and choked.
The ceiling light hanging above his head kept flickering on and of, the walls were moving closer the him. The room he was in was slowly moving when the door slowly kept opening.
But there was no need to be unprepared, because as soon as the door opened everything went back to the way it was before. Wisley was standing in his room, gazing not only at his door but also at his sister. "wha-what...", the boy tried to speak but choked instead.
"dad said to hurry up", Lilith said, her perky voice making Wisley a bit calmer. his heart rate slowing down back to normal and the slight shaking of his body stopping.
He slid a hand up his face, removing the sweat pouring out his skin. "tell him that...I'll be there in a minute.", Wisley replied, trying to hide his quivering voice.
"ok," Lilith answered back, while looking at her brother. There identical dark brown eyes meeting each other. Only contrast was that one was flowing with curiosity while the other seemed frightened.
"and ley?"
"yeah...?"
"you stink", the child joked, before running out of her brother's room. He shook his head, a small smile forming on his lips. but it soon vanished as he looked at his now opened door.
He thought he was having a dream, but it wasn't. he could only figure out that he might have been hallucinating.
"dammit", he hissed out, while sitting on his bed. he could feel his hands shaking a bit, his damped hair clinging onto his skin. He never had this before, only nightmares but never an hallucination in daylight.
"The next trip I'll be taking is one to the madhouse", he thought while holding his head in his hands. He needs help, after what happened he truly needs help. His mom mentioned therapist again but he couldn't. Wisley had tried talking about it, but in the end he could never seemed to utter a single word out.
"what good would it do anyways, they'll think I'm nuts", he muttered.
He could not worry his parents anymore, ore anyone whom he cares about. And he could especially not let people think that he might be going crazy.
Wisley sighted, stood up and made the decision to finally start his day. He could not keep sitting in his room thinking about the strange occurrence that had just took place while his dad was still waiting for him to get ready.
So that's what he did. With one last sight, he walked towards his open suitcase.
