Wisley gasped loudly, feeling his body moving upward. He immediately stood up when his eyes had finally adjusted to his surroundings. The three Maleficis before him silently stared at him.
"Skyros," was the first thing that Wisley told them. "He's my great-grandfather."
Selena smiled. "That he is."
"But why isn't he immortal? He's a freaking Maleficis right?"
"Not after he fell in love with your great-grandmother. He made the decision to live as a human, so he became one. His abilities remained but not as strong as they used to be."
"And somehow I still got them because of him? Is this why I'm here because I'm a Maleficis?" Wisley asked them worriedly. Theos laughed at the boy's face. The man shook his head, "Do not fret, young Wisley. You are not a Maleficis nor human. What you were born with is truly rare. A descendant of a Maleficis and a human. You, young one, you're a Videremalum. One that senses wicked-beings."
"Videremalum..." Wisley whispered the foreign word. He always knew he was different since a young child, seeing things that no other humans could see. As he grows older, these hallucinations - as everyone around him called it, also grew stronger and worse. Medications and doses of pills increased but not truly helping him.
Now he finally had the answers that he was seeking for. He was not crazy, he was just inhuman. But for some reason, instead of feeling relieved, he felt a sense of urgency now. Like the whole world was weighing down on him. He knew that they needed him, needed his powers to stop Penelope and the Nigrantem.
He gulped, his throat dry and slightly hurting. He thought about the look his great grandfather gave him right before the vision stopped. The boy felt as if Skyros was directly talking to him, and not the baby - Wisley's grandmother, Phoebe - in the end, but the boy thought nothing of it. He must have probably confused it all while being overwhelmed by many new things at once.
"What now?" He asked, his voice slightly agitated. "What do you need me for exactly? Especially right after you made my family forget that I'm in town."
"We're sorry about your family, young Wisley. But we had no other choice. The situation would be even more complicated if they were to know of our existence. "Selena said, looking at the boy before speaking again. "And what do we need you for, you ask? You've been having visions of the future."
Wisley shook his head, "Not exactly. More like visions of people that will die."
"But the future nonetheless. Your powers are still immature. You would need to practice to use it at will. You will be able to control it instead of it controlling you. This is needed for you to seek out the future. We need to know Nigrantem's steps and where they hid the Fengari'fysis."
"And you're not able to do that?"
"That is not in our abilities." Arthorticus told the boy whose face was creasing by the minute.
"Look...I don't think I'm capable of doing any of this. I just found out that werewolves exist and that I'm mated to one! And now you want me to seek out the very monster that killed Almira? And hat's not the only thing, you split me up from my family, my family that you mind-fucked!" Wisley yelled at the Maleficis. His face was red and heated. He stood up from the chair, wanting to leave the room. far away from the Maleficis "I don't think I can do that."
"We apologise, but this is not a choice." Arthorticus said sharply. The man's green eyes are almost predatory now. He could almost make the boy fly out the room, but Selena touched his arm, trying to de-escalate the situation.
"Arthor, let us not scare the boy any further than this," she told him. "You do have a choice Wisley, but understand that whatever you may choose, there will be consequences, good and bad. But if you do choose to run away from all this, many more will die." Selena explained, with an almost pleading look in her green eyes.
