Today is August 28th, and we're about a quarter of the way done with the tour already. Yesterday the boys played a show at Keybank Center in Buffalo, tomorrow they start the two show series at Madison Square Garden in the city. But there's no show today, though we're already in New York City. The four of them made sure of that, because today is my eighteenth birthday.

They wake me up at the crack of dawn, using the method of all standing around my bunk staring at me, which gives me a heart attack.

"Happy birthday Harper!" Joe yells, the first to realize I'm awake.

"You couldn't think of a better way to wake me up?" I ask, putting the pillow over my face and trying to get my heartrate to return to normal.

"Just payback for what you did in Mumbai," he says cheekily, and it takes me a second, but then I remember.

"Touche," I say, grinning back at him and sitting up.

"Happy birthday!" the rest of them tell me as I clamber down to the floor.

"Happy birthday, cutie," Laine says as we all head downstairs for my birthday breakfast.

I smile at him as I go to help the three wives cook, but they wave me away and point to the couch where all four boys are now sitting.

"Come watch Game of Thrones!" Joe calls, and Sophie points again.

"They're watching the best show ever, if I do say so myself. Better get over there," she says.

"Can't argue with logic," I say, walking to the couch, where Laine pats a spot between him and Kevin.

"So, is there anything you want to do today? Because if you can't come up with anything to do to celebrate, Nick's got a pretty good plan," Kevin says.

I look at Nick curiously, intrigued. He's the one who knows me the best here, and he's used to the city after doing so much work on Broadway, so I trust him wholeheartedly to plan my first birthday as an adult. Also, I didn't think much about it, so I don't have any ideas.

"If you've got a plan, I'm down for it," I tell Nick, and he suddenly looks elated.

"Today's gonna be so much fun," he says, going to alert the driver of whatever plans he has. I completely believe him about today being fun, because everything Nick likes is the same for me.

We continue watching Game of Thrones until we finish eating, given that our food was brought into the living room for us. Then Nick goes upstairs to finish getting all the details straight for whatever we are doing today while the others present me with the gifts they bought.

"You guys didn't have to get me anything!" I say, not expecting anything given the crazy tour schedule.

"Harper, it's not every day your little cousin comes of age," Kevin says, passing me his gift first.

Kevin has made me a scrapbook that he's filled with every tour picture, blank space open for the rest of the shows. Danielle gifts me jewelry from her collection, which I've been wanting for a while. Sophie gets me airpods while Joe buys me an apple watch. Laine gives me a necklace with his name on it. Priyanka hands me a record player, which I've wanted since Joe got his last year, and when Nick returns from upstairs he hands me two packages. By the look his wife gives him, I know both gifts weren't expected.

"I know we had one planned out, Pri, but I got something else just in case we were going to go along with my plan for today," he says, handing me the larger box first.

Inside this box, the entire Jonas Brothers vinyl set lays, which must have been the planned gift. It's the exact set I wanted, and I'm momentarily distracted by it until Nick hands me the other box, unable to hide his grin.
