Chapter 2 - The Rose

For what felt like forever, I had a small hole in my heart where I had lost my best friend. Now I feel complete again because I have found him. Although he's mega famous, we text regularly and he tweets me all the time. He also calls me every night to wish me sweet dreams. Isn't he the cutest best friend I could ask for? Recently, I have become extremely close with Luke's band members, Michael, Calum and Ashton. They're extremely cute guys who not only save my life with their music, they make me giggle every time I see them. They aren't snobbish like you would imagine them to be just because they're famous, they're ordinary boys doing their dream job because that's what they are good at! Although I have noticed Lacey coming out of her shell around Calum. I have also noticed how Calum runs his fingers through his hair nervously every time he talks to her. I think he likes her and I will prove it somehow!

"No Lacey, I've told you before, youre my best friend! You can have more than one best friend" I tell her as I lay on my bed staring at the ceiling. I swear we must have been on the phone talking and gossiping about Luke for over an hour. "I best be your best friend" she giggles. "How many roses did he send you again?". I smile looking at the many roses on my shelf. "12, one for every year he's missed out on talking to me". "Wow that's deep... What did the card say?" "To my beautiful bestie, here's one rose for every year I've missed you. I've missed you since we were 7 and I miss you still. Hope to see you soon. All my love, Luke" I blush when I re-read it down the phone to Lacey. "Is that blushing I hear Ana?" She giggles. "Shut up! You know me too well" I tell her whilst giggling. "I have to go, Luke will ring any minute before bed time, I'll see you tomorrow?" I ask my best friend. "Of course, I see you every day silly! Goodnight" she giggles at me. "Goodnight" I reply as I press the little red end call button.

Since the reunion with Luke, I've been happy every minute of every day. I can't stop smiling because there's a constant reminder of him everywhere. The posters on my walls, the boy next door with a lip ring, the hoodie in my closet, his songs on the radio and the constant YouTube adverts showing his CD. Of course he's sent me a signed one because I'm not only his best friend, I'm special too.

*We've got a bit of love hate, take me to the edge and you hit the brakes, you know that it drives me insane, but when I do the same, all you do is complain* My phone continues ringing. I see the name on my phone screen. It's Luke! I swear he must have like 10 heart emojis after his name.

"Hello?" I ask as I answer. "Hello princess, how are you?" That familiar soothing voice asks me. "I'm amazing now I hear your voice" I blush. "Did you get my roses?" He asks. "All 11 of them?" I ask. I love joking around with him. "11?" He asks shocked. "There's meant to be 12! Why isn't there 12?!" He starts to freak out. "Luke I'm joking, of course I got all 12". His panicky breath slows down and he lets out a sigh. "Thank goodness for that! Don't play cruel tricks on me Analise otherwise I'll have to tickle you to death".

*knock, knock* "come in" I reply to the taps at my door. Luke stays relatively quiet but I can hear his breathing down the phone. "Can you get off the phone now sweetheart and go to sleep. You don't want to be late to meet Lacey tomorrow" my mum says, poking her head around the door. "Okay mum" I reply and she leaves. "I hear someone has to sleep without giving me cuddles" Luke says in a sad voice. "Yeah Luke, I have things to do with Lacey tomorrow". "Okay well sweet dreams princess, don't forget to dream about me" he giggles. "I always dream of you Luke, my knight in shining armor" I smile. "Goodnight gorgeous, love you lots" he says soothingly. "Goodnight handsome, love you too" I reply. He hangs up. What a cutie. This is what we do nearly every night. Isn't our little routine cute? I lay my head on my pillow and turn off my lamp. I wonder what tomorrow will bring and how I'll deal with it. I sleepily yawn and close my eyes. "Goodnight Luke" I whisper as I fall asleep. "Goodnight everyone"...
