I take my key from my pocket, unaware of what would happen next. Is this my fault? I can't help but feel this is me getting between the band. I should never have kept in touch with Luke. We walk inside my house and I trail off to the kitchen for some coffee. I certainly need it for my nerves. I sit at a stool around the kitchen table waiting for the boys to sit too. Calum sits opposite me and Luke just stands in the doorway staring at us. "Luke, tell me what this is about" I plead. "This looks familiar" he says. "Like your date today at the coffee shop". I'm silent in shock. He thought that was a date?! "Luke you have it all wrong, that was friends talking. Like I do with you just without the cuddles. Luke you can't seriously think it was a date? I'm wearing your hoodie for Pete's sake! You think I'm gonna go on a date wearing your hoodie?". He stands there blankly staring at me.
I can feel Luke's eyes burning into my skin. How could he feel like that. He means more to me than anyone in this world, he of all people should know that. Suddenly, my mobile starts to make noises and it tears me from my mind that is running wild.
I stutter "I have to take this" as I rise up from my stool and leave the room. "Lacey, now isn't a good time" I tell her. "Ana help me! What should I do about Callum?" She starts her little debate on the phone as I trail off into my deep thoughts...
Luke's P.O.V
I stare at him. My supposed best friend, my band mate Calum. He has a smug look on his face. "How you could do this to me Calum, I don't know. I'm meant to be your friend. We are meant to be like brothers. You're no brother of mine" I yell as I squeeze my eyes shut. My eyes welling up with tears, and one trickles down my cheek. I quickly wipe it away with my sleeve. "Luke, mate, you are like a brother to me. In fact you're like my twin. I couldn't hurt you like that man. I know how you feel so I wouldn't. You know how much I like her but not enough to do that to you! You know I'm confused about my feelings for Lacey too, I wouldn't mess that up nor would I mess up our friendship. You remember our saying? Bros before hoes? Not necessarily saying that the girls we love are hoes its a metaphor really". I look at him with a blank expression on my face. "I love her Calum. I love her..." That is all I can get out before Ana walks back into the room.
Ana's P.O.V
"What were you saying?" I ask them both. In sync they both reply "nothing" in an awkward tone. "Please Luke, you have to believe me, nothing happened" I plead. "I believe you" he says in a hurt tone. Calum says "I best go, I need to be somewhere else" and I nod as he leaves.
I wipe a tear from Luke's cheek and wrap my arms around his neck, holding him close. "I'm sorry" I whisper as I shut my eyes, trying not to cry. He pulls away from me, stares in my eyes and manages to pull a small smile on his face. "How are you going to make it up to me?". I smile, "movies, popcorn, your sofa and plenty of cuddles" I say. His smile widens. "Perfect".
