Yiseo
"Hey, beautiful. Are you studying?"
"Go away, Taewon."
The guy in front of me chuckled, then proceeded to sit on my table. "You're studying too much. Come on, loosen up a little bit."
"I said, go away."
"Why you little-"
"The girl said go away, so move, you jackass," Soyeon said as she dragged Taewon out of my sight along with Jaemin. I heard the guy cursing when he left my desk.
"Ugh, that guy's annoying as hell," Jaemin said as he lent me a box of apple juice.
"Thanks, Jae. You know, you guys don't have to do that. I could do it myself."
"He keeps bothering you and it's bothering us," Soyeon said. "Anyway, it's our last day of mid terms. What should we do after school?"
"There's a new, upcoming karaoke place near my house. We should go there!"
"I can't go out. I promised my dad we would watch a movie together," I said, causing both Soyeon and Jaemin to sigh.
"Alright, fine. Jaemin and I are gonna go to the karaoke centre after this, then if it's as good as what people have claimed to be, you're gonna come with us in Sunday. Deal?"
"Alright, deal."
———
"I'm home," I said while putting my shoes on the shoe rack, only to be welcomed with chaos inside the house.
"O-Oh, Yiseo, you're home!"
"What are you doing, dad?"
He sighed. "I was trying to make some popcorns. I tried to follow the instructions on the internet, but it suddenly blew up and now corns are everywhere in the house."
I chuckled. Ah, classic dad. "Come on, let's just go to the cinema."
I took a bath while my dad cleaned up the apartment. Both of us finished around the same time, then we grabbed our jackets and went to the cinema.
"Okay, what should we watch? It part 2, Jurassic World, or-"
I stopped talking when I saw Namgyu at the cashier. My dad noticed me, then he asked, "Who are you looking at?"
"N-Nothing. I mean n-no one."
He looked at Namgyu's figure from behind and teased me. "Oooh, is he your crush?"
"N-No! Come on, stop it. Just pick a movie," I said. My heart skipped a beat when Namgyu glanced at me, causing me to be nervous. My dad, like a prankster he had always been, smirked, then tried to approach him before I quickly grabbed his wrist. "Dad, I swear to God, I'm gonna kill you if you dare."
He bursted into laughter when he saw how panicked I was. He said my face turned red and he noticed how blushed I was when Namgyu looked at me. Luckily, by then the guy had entered one of the studios with his friends.
"Oh, my baby has grown up. Who is he?"
"His name is Park Namgyu. He goes to my school and is the same age as me, but he doesn't know me. We're not friends," I said, causing my dad to giggle. "Shut up. Just hurry up and pick a movie!"
My dad bought the tickets for It part 2 and two bags of popcorn for us to eat in the studio. We lent the tickets to the staff and looked for our seats inside. You have no idea how shocked I was when I found out our seats were next to Namgyu's and his friends'.
"Dad, dad. Please, you go sit first," I whispered to my dad who hadn't seemed to notice the seats. He kept asking why and when he caught a glimpse of Namgyu's outfit, he smirked.
He went to our seats first and when he reached his seat, he suddenly said, "Hello, young sir. Is this seat taken?"
God how much I really wanted to kill my dad at that moment. I knew he would do something about it and I definitely knew that he tried to hold his laughter when he suddenly talked to Namgyu.
The guy looked up and shook his head. When I thought the embarrassment was already over, my dad spoke up again. "Aighoo, you're Park Namgyu, right? My daughter's schoolmate?"
I so wanted to kill myself.
Namgyu looked confused, so my dad said, "Kim Yiseo? You don't know her?"
He leaned back, then he pointed his finger at me. "This is Yiseo, my daughter. She goes to the same school as you."
Much to my surprise, Namgyu smiled and reached out his hand. "Hi, I'm Park Namgyu. Nice to meet you."
I froze for a few seconds before I finally shook his hand. "H-H-Hi, I'm K-Kim Yiseo. Sorry about my dad."
He chuckled, then he went back talking to his friends. I turned my glare to my dad who seemed to be enjoying the whole situation.
"There's no way I'm going out with you again."
"Oh, come on. Without me, you won't even come close to introducing yourself to him."
"Shut up. Let's just enjoy the movie."
