Yiseo
"Yiseo, baby," Soyeon said, "how are you?"
"I'm fine, Soyeon, thanks for visiting."
Soyeon and Jaemin visited my home after I got back from the hearing. I was relieved because it was a more personal hearing, where Mr. Lee and a few other people talked to me in private before talking to Namgyu, so I didn't have to see him.
"So what happened," Jaemin asked, "during the hearing? Are they punishing Namgyu?"
"Yeah basically the detective was also present in the hearing because he was the one who did the official investigation," I said, "and he found the CCTV from the bar as a solid evidence."
"What's the final decision?"
"I received community service hours as a punishment for being in a bar as a minor," I said, "but Namgyu got conviction for that, drinking underage, and harassment and with that, he's been expelled."
Jaemin sighed in relief. "Thank God Mr. Lee expelled that creep."
"But you shouldn't get a punishment," Soyeon said. "Namgyu basically dragged you there."
I chuckled. "Well, they don't have proof for that."
My chuckle became an awkward laughter when Soyeon and Jaemin looked at me in pity.
"Are you really okay, Yiseo?" Soyeon asked. "Is there anything we can do help?"
"Guys, come on, it's fine," I said as I chuckled again. "Please let's talk about something else. I don't want to talk about it or even think about it."
Soyeon nodded, but Jaemin didn't. His eyes were fixed at his phone screen and didn't hear us calling his name until Soyeon screamed to his ear, causing him to jump.
"Why do you look so surprised like that?" she asked.
I noticed that he started to shake before he showed his phone to us, which immediately made me have a difficulty breathing. "I-I-Is this t-true?"
"I-I don't know," he said, "but it's all over the news."
Soyeon then picked up the remote TV and turned it to the news channel.
"This just in. A 17 year old student convicted of sexual harassment toward his own schoolmate has just run away from the police. He is now being searched and we are here to advise everyone, especially young women, to stay safe," the anchor lady said. "If anyone has seen this young man, please contact the police right away."
And just that, we were sitting in fear. Everything that happened that night came back to me. My body was shaking only because I was still traumatized about the fact that he was on top of me, but also because he had just run away from the police!
"We're here, Yiseo," Soyeon said. "Don't be scared."
Soon after she said that, the front door was knocked violently. The three of us already had the idea of who it might be. I wanted to hide, but it was as if I was paralyzed. I couldn't move from where I was sitting and both of my friends noticed that.
"I-If that's Namgyu, how the hell did he pass the security and the doorman?"
"I'm not sure that they have watched the news," Jaemin said. "Namgyu has come over here many times. They must've let him in."
Before we knew it, he broke into my apartment and saw me hiding behind Soyeon and Jaemin.
"Yiseo, please," he said, "I need to talk to you."
He was about to approach me when both of my friends stood up and threatened to beat him up. "Look, I know what you guys must be thinking of," he continued, "but I ran away because I just need one last moment with Yiseo. Trust me, I would never do anything to hurt her."
"Would never do anything to hurt me?" I said while approaching him. Soyeon and Jaemin held me back, but I told them it's okay. "So you didn't attempt to harass me that night?!"
"I was drunk, Yiseo. It was a mistake," he said as he reached for my hand, which I let go of almost immediately.
"Don't you fucking touch me, you disgusting pig."
What I said apparently made him mad. He threw a punch at me on the face, which made me surprised and lost my balance. Would never do anything to hurt me, huh?
At that exact moment, my dad and Uncle Jimin came in and was puzzled by the situation until they realized that it was Namgyu who caused the mess.
"You!" my dad yelled out as he approached him and grabbed his collar while Uncle Jimin seemed to immediately call the police. "You fucking assaulted my daughter and you still have the FACE to go here?!"
"Mr. Kim, sir, hear me out."
Before Namgyu could say anything, my dad already shut him up by punching him. "You even DARE to speak even after hitting my daughter?! You deserve to rot in hell, you son of a bitch."
As my dad was about to throw another punch, the police came and rushed to handcuff Namgyu. He fought it at first, but they managed to keep him on the ground and tased him so he wouldn't go anywhere.
After the police was gone with Namgyu in their arms, my dad approached me and immediately pulled me into his brace. "Yiseo, oh my God, are you okay?"
"I'm fine. He just landed one punch on my face."
"I swear to God I will make sure he will get the maximum punishment for this, Yiseo," he said. "My lawyer and I are working on it and I-"
"Dad," I said as I proceeded to hug him, "thank you for being the only man I can trust in my life."
"Well, there's Jimin, Jaemin, Mingyu, and perhaps-"
I cut him off. "Just take it as a compliment, dad, come on," I said while chuckling, causing him to smile and hug me tighter.
"I'm just extremely relieved that you're okay."
