It was two years ago that Jax Teller married Breyanna Jackson, the daughter of long time friend of SAMCRO, but their relationship was toxic and tumultuous. Jax couldn't keeping his dick in his pants and Breyanna had trouble putting down the needle...

It had been a few more days before Breyanna was finally being released from St. Thomas. She was relieved, yet completely terrified at what was yet to come. She knew that she was going away for awhile in order to get her demons in check, but she hated the fact that she wasn't going to be seeing Abel nor Jax for that time. She also knew that this is what she had to do. She needed to be clean and sober if she was ever going to be the mother that Abel needed.
Breyanna was tossing a folded shirt into a small duffel, as she waited for her ex husband's arrival. Jax was taking the morning to drive her to the rehab facility. She was grateful that at least their friendship seemed to be back on track. She knew that her and Jax were just never meant to be together.
"Knock, knock,"
Breyanna stopped what she was doing and turned to see that her former mother in law was making her way into her hospital room. She sighed in annoyance, as the older, stylishly dressed woman clicked her stiletto boots toward her as if their last encounter didn't involve death threats.
Breyanna really didn't need this shit today.
"Gemma," Breyanna began, "what do I owe this visit this time? Here to finish the job?" She spat sarcastically.
"Oh, don't be so dramatic, Breyanna." The queen of bikers scoffed in arrogance. "I'm just here on a friendly visit before you go off to waste my son's money again."
Breyanna rolled her eyes at that backhanded comment. "Despite what you think, Gemma, I really am going to try this time. No matter what. So, you can take your idle threats and intimidations and shove them up your ass."
A small smile graced Gemma's features. "Now there's that's fighting spirit my son loved so much. I was beginning to think she'd died too."
"Well," Breyanna folded her arms across her chest in a defiant stance, "we all can't be rocks like you, every second of every hour of the day, Mother Gemma." She spat shaking her head, waiting a few beats before letting out a small chuckle. "I'm not even sure how you do it."
"How I do what, sweetheart?" Gemma retorted, patronizingly stalking closer toward Breyanna.
"Keep all your lies straight—all the dirty little secrets buried." Breyanna kept her stance, not backing down. "I bet your conscience must be locked up real tight."
Now it was Gemma's turn give a small chuckle, her tall frame towering over Breyanna's. "Nothing gets in the way of me taking care of my family—especially my conscience." She responded spitefully, leaning toward Breyanna. "But of course, you wouldn't be able to grasp that concept—bein' a baby killer and all."
Those were the last words Gemma spoke, as she turned to walk away. Breyanna didn't want Gemma's words to get to her. Not this time.
"You can call me what you want, Gemma," Breyanna called out, "but I'm still Abel's mother, and I'm going to be in his life whether you approve of it or not. So, if you really want to finish that job, you might as well do it now, while I'm standing right here."
