~Lilith's POV~
I slowly open my eyes fully aware of what just happened. I am tied to a chair. I take in my surrounding and I am met with a pair of eyes staring at me. Next to me also tied to a chair sits the man from the attack.
"So, we meet again?" He smirks.
"So, we do." I reply. I take in his appearance. "You've seen better days."
"So, have you." He replies. "The only thing really bothering me is the pain in my arse you caused." He states. I laugh. "Can't even sit normally." He continues and shifts on his chair.
"I can imagine..." I reply staring of in the distance with a wincing face.
"Where is your money?" The man asks.
"Apparently my heroism is rewarded with a nice torturing." I say sarcastically.
"Why, you saved the Prince." The man asks confused.
"That's what I said as well, but apparently my arrow was meant from the Prince's head." I reply with a frown on my face. "Kind of wished it did hit him in the head." I mutter and the man laughs.
"Yep, it's a bummer you hit me. You would've made my job a lot easier." The man laughs.
"That arse of a Prince started accusing me of murder and robbery. Like come on, give me a break." I say. "I was on my way to hunt some deer, and then I saw you with a knife. I thought if I would turn you in, I wouldn't have to hunt for the rest of my life. But boy was I wrong." I shake my head.
"That sucks..." The man says. He looks at me. "Need to provide food for the family as well?"
"Since my parents died, I have to take care of me and my little sister." I answer partly truthful.
When my parents along with the parents of Ophelia died, I took care of the food when Ophelia couldn't work.
"I feel you; I took this job to make enough money for my wife and children. He told me I would become a duke." He looks dreamily. "Can you imagine, never working again."
"I can imagine..." I reply looking dreamily as well.
"Where is your sister now?" The man asks. "I mean who takes care of her, now that you're here."
"She is staying at a friend's house." I reply while thinking of Geronimo.
"it's always nice to have some friends, isn't it?" The man says.
"It is." I mumble.
We sit in silence for a while, both thinking about our loved ones. He about his alive and I about my lost loved ones.
"For someone who shot me in the arse, I know very little about you." The man suddenly states. I laugh.
"I would reach out my hand now, but you and I both can see that's not an option." I say while nodding my head towards my tied-up hands.
"Codey Roust, it's a pleasure to meet you." Codey says while awkwardly waving his hand.
"Damon Merripen, the pleasure is all mine." I wave my hand as well. We both laugh at our idiotic actions.
"Here we are..." He says. "Didn't see this coming, the man who saved the Prince sitting next to me in the cell."
"That makes two of us." I state. "Thought I would be laying in the sun with a nice drink in each hand."
We hear footsteps coming down the corridor. They stop in front of our cell door.
"Pretend to be dead." Codey says while hanging his forward. I copy his movement and listen to the sounds.
