Lesley's POV:
It all happened in an instant, he got hurt but he still proceeded to kill the alien woman just to protect me. Had he not jumped over, i would have been dead long ago. Here I thought that he was building armies to spread destruction in the world yet once faced with the enemies, i didn't know who was the enemy anymore. They were vile looking creatures, creatures of the dark, all scary looking witches and mages and marksmen. If he was really building armies as the bad guy, he wouldn't have saved me. It was as if every single of us mattered to him and here i thought he just wanted to use me.
I flopped down on the sofa inside his room where everyone was now gathered. Various people i hadn't seen also came inside and sat down here and there while few of them were pacing front and back deciding what to do.
'We should call for Estes. He can get the King back within seconds.' A guy with a monkey spoke.
'No Claude, we can't do that. Bringing him here would mean risking our hiding spot! And we can't do that!' Hanzo replied thoughtfully. 'Get Rafaela! Quick! She's great friends with Johnson and she has healing properties in her. Gatot, why don't you and Leomord go get her?'
'Going now!' Leomord pulled Gatot and they went away to bring whoever Rafaela was.
'What do we do? How can i help?' I ask, worried because he risked his life to save mine and i didn't even have the chance to say thank you. I couldn't live if he died because of me.
'We wait, patiently.' Ling said and sat next to me. Kimmy was seated on the other side.
'He already had his leg wounded which is why i didn't want to wake him up for the battle. I wanted him to be able to rely on us yet here we are,' she spoke quietly.
'It's nobody's fault Kim. He shouldn't have played so risky.' Badang said and smiled at me.
'Go change into fresh clothes Lesley. Boss will be fine. Don't worry.' He said and went over to the bed where the King laid.
'It's not your fault you know? Don't beat yourself for it,' Ling said to me on my way to my newly furnished room.
'I'm here if you want anything at all. Don't be shy to ask. Also, let me know when you'll be done, I'll wait for you outside.' He said and I nodded slowly.
'You can come inside and sit. I will take a shower and change there itself so, you're good.'
I took a hot shower and changed into fresh set of clothes Kimmy had provided me with. I came outside to find Ling seated on a table kept in the middle of the room and gestured me to sit next to him. I followed his gesture and sat besides him when he brought a first aid kit and pulled out bandages and lotions.
'Now stay very still. You're bleeding from your lips.' He said and put on the dettol, detoxified my wounds and put on something to cover it up with.
'Give me your hand,' he said and i gave him my right hand. I was very surprised to see there were actually many cuts and bruises that i hadn't noticed in the shower myself. He did a very good job providing medical care and i wondered when he learnt all of this.
'How do you do this, so easily? I don't feel any pain.' I say and he smiled.
'Years and years of practice. You see, before Zilong and I.. uh nevermind, before I wanted to become an assassin, I wanted to become a doctor to help people live their best lives. So with that dream came a passion and with that passion came practice.' He smiled but something in his smile made me feel sad. He was hiding something. Who is Zilong?
'Done.' He said. 'You can rest now Lesley, I'll let you know when Rafaela arrives. Okay?'
'I'd actually like to go and check on him if that's okay? It is very unsettling to me that he is in this state for choosing to save me. So i'd like to at least be there.' I say and he nodded in understanding.
'Sure, i'll take you there.' He offered and I went along with him.
While arriving there, Leomord was already back with a fairy. That must be Rafaela. Gatot came in through the door and had few medical things in his hands.
'Can I have only one person in the room besides me and Gusion?' She spoke softly. 'My healing properties will be divided for everyone else and that will make the process slow. So could you people please leave?'
'Yeah, I'll stay.' Gatot spoke and we all agreed to stay outside.
The waiting was a challenge. It was getting very difficult because of that anticipation. We hated it and nobody spoke to anybody through that time. Two hours had passed and it was 10 PM. Badang offered me to take me to my room to rest but I couldn't, i didn't want to either.
8 hours passed, 6 AM now and finally we see Gatot coming out with Rafaela. We all hurriedly stand up to know about him and she smiles at us.
'He will be fine. Give him few weeks to rest. His body needs time to heal and although i've taken care of all the immediate emergencies, there are few wounds that will take a lot of time to heal and i suggest you take care that he doesn't train or do any straining physical exercise. Since it's located near his ribs, he will struggle to do any basic task for a while so one of you needs to help him out. But for now, he's fine.' I dashed onto the room and looked at his peaceful face, sleeping.
'You seriously need to rest Lesley.' Kimmy said coming after me.
'I'm fine.' I said and sat on the sofa for a couple of minutes. He still hadn't regained his consciousness and therefore i stayed there, and i planned on staying there until he woke up.
I hadn't slept in 24 hours now and i was sitting on a bench beside the bed where he slept. I read a book aloud for him to hear.
'There is a tide in the affairs of men.' Blah blah blah
And then i fell asleep, my head resting on his bed and my body on the chair.
