Chapter Four:

I quickly changed while FP headed to the bar. I was supposed to meet Jughead and his parents twenty minutes ago, I knew they were going to hold that against me I grabbed my new motorcycle keys and helmet then ran out of the trailer. I put the helmet on and hopped on the bike, I was super excited to feel the powerful wind blow through my hair and pass through my jacket. I put it in gear and started my new adventure on my bike to the privileged world. When I passed people were more confused than when I got here with my beat up truck, this side must not have motorcycles. I pull up in front of their house and hop off my bike, I looked like such a badass and I was loving it. I walked up the stairs of his house and knocked on the door, I heard heels coming towards the door--his mother.

"Hello, come in." She was already giving me attitude and I wasn't up for it.

I walked in and she walked past me towards the kitchen, I didn't know whether to take my shoes off or not so I kept them on just in case I had to quickly leave before beating the shit out of his mother. I walked into the kitchen where Jughead was pouring a glass of water.

"Hey Betty! I'm glad you're here!" He hands me the glass of water.

"Thank you! Your house is lovely." I take the glass.

"Thanks Betty!" Jughead moved to a chair in the island.

"So--Betty you're in that gang? What's the name?" His mother tries to sound sweet, but in a sarcastic way.

"The South Side Serpents, yes I am apart of the gang." I put the glass on the counter.

"What made you want to join?" She was cutting some lunch.

"The man who found me was apart of the gang, so I joined when I turned ten. It was one of the best decisions in my life."

"You joined at the age of ten?" She stopped cutting the vegetables for the salads.

"Yes ten is the youngest you can join the Serpents. There's not many woman in the Serpents, but it's a great opportunity to--have a family." She set down her knife when I said that. Jughead looked at me with a glance that hinted me to shut up.

"Jughead has been telling us more about your life, well what he found out. Like your best friend, boyfriend, and adopted father." When she said adopted father I remembered that technically FP isn't my adopted father, he's just a man who raised me illegally.

"What about them?" I took a sip of water.

"How old is your boyfriend?" Jughead placed his head in his hand on the island trying to make us shut up.

"He's only a month older than I am."

"How long have you been dating?"

"It's been a year last saturday." I drank more water.

"Did he give you anything?" She asked as she put the vegetables in a bowl.

"Yeah he gave me a flash drive with information about you and your husband, sadly he didn't know that I had a twin brother." Her and Jughead looked up.

"He did research on us?"

"He did research for me to find my biological family, but I'm glad I never looked at it." I put the glass down a final time.

"Betty I know we haven't had the best past, but you are my daughter and I think we should know each other."

"First off there wasn't a past, you left me on a bridge. I couldn't walk or talk. I was only two days old. Why should I give you the honor to let you know me?" I stand from the stool.
