Chapter Seven:

The sound of someone cutting my seatbelt as another person was holding me so I didn't fall when my seat belt was off filled my ears. I was laying on the ground not knowing what was happening, I was barely breathing. They moved me onto a gurney and rolled me to the top of the hill and into the ambulance, they were towing my truck. They put an oxygen mask on me to help me breath, they were trying to patch me up whenever they could to stop the bleeding. Here and then I would open my eyes to find bright lights, but then I would have to shut my eyes. They kept asking me questions, but all I could hear was white noise and then nothing.

The sound of machines beeped over and over again, I could feel someone holding my hand and rubbing my forehead. I started slowly opening my eyes to the sun blaring in my eyes, then someone closed the curtains. I turned towards the person holding my hand to see that it was Sweet Pea. He looked tired and worried, Toni was sitting behind him. I squeezed his hand, he quickly turned towards me and started to smile.

"Unknown you scared me! I'm so glad you're awake!" He started kissing my face repeatedly.

"How did you guys know I was here?" I stumbled on words.

"We're your emergency contact along with FP, but he wasn't answering the phone." Toni sat at the end of the bed.

"How's my truck?"

"You just woke up in the hospital from being thrown down a hill and you're asking how your truck is?" Sweet Pea sat back down.

"FP gave me that truck, it means a lot to me! We've done a lot with that truck." I make the bed sit up more.

"They brought it to a shop to see if they could fix it, but with how badly it looked I don't think they're gonna be able to even attempt to fix it." Toni patted my leg, it hurt. She was probably hitting a bruise.

"Does Jughead or anyone know I'm here?"

"I don't think so, we haven't called anyone. You just met your family so there's not much the doctors could do to contact them." Toni grabs my phone. "I'll go call if you want."

"Thanks Toni!" She walks out.

"Do you know who was driving the car that hit you? According to the cops, it was a hit and run." Sweet Pea's hand was trembling in my hand.

"No I don't, I turned the corner and they were heading eighty right towards me."

"I'm so glad you're okay! I'm never letting you get hurt ever again." Right as soon as he said that Toni and a doctor came in.

"Miss. Jones! How are you feeling? You had quite a fall." The doctor walks over towards me.

"I feel bruised."

"You're definitely bruised, you also have bruised ribs from the seat belt, sprained wrist, and a concussion." He started writing on a chartboard. "We've done some tests, but you're all good. You just need to sign some papers and get a parent to sign your release papers."

"Thank you!" I smile with my cut mouth.

"I'll bring those papers in and once we get those you'll be able to go home." He walked out of the room.

I tried to sit up as much as I could, Sweet Pea helped me with other parts of standing. I was in a hospital gown and walked to the bag full of my personal belongings, luckily my dress wasn't torn too much. I bring it to the bag and have Toni help me get dressed, she even had to help me with my shoes. The doctor must have been in here when I went to the bathroom because the papers were on the table waiting for my signature. I sat back on the bed and started filling out the forms, waiting for some type of parent to come.
