Dean is driving the Impala down a two-lane. Sam is sitting in the passenger's seat and Hermione in the backseat behind Sam.
'Come on, Sam, I'm begging you. This is stupid,' Dean tells Sam.
'Why?'
'Going to visit Mom's grave? She doesn't even have a grave—there, there was no body left after the fire,' Hermione turns her head away from the window to the older brother.
'She has a headstone,'
'Yeah, put up by her uncle, a man we've never even met. So you wanna, go pay your respects to a slab of granite put up by a stranger? Come on,'
'Dean, that's not the point,'
'Well then, enlighten me, Sam,'
'It's not about a body, or, or, a casket. It's about her memory, okay?'
'Hmmm,'
'And after Dad it just...just feels like the right thing to do,'
'It's irrational, is what it is,'
'Look, man. No one asked you to come,'
'Why don't we swing by the roadhouse instead? I mean, we haven't heard anything on the demon lately. We should be hunting that son of a bitch down,'
'That's a good idea, you two should. Just drop me off, I'll hitch a ride, and I'll meet you there tomorrow,'
'Right. Stuck...stuck with those people, making awkward small talk until you show up? No thanks,'
Hermione and Dean are standing by another gravestone as Sam was kneeling by his mother's gravestone.
'This helps him you know that?' Hermione points out. Dean scoffs.
'Sure. Why didn't he go there with you then? If it helps him,'
'Because he not only lost his mother but also his dad. He just wants closure that's all,' Dean looks away. 'I can't believe you are upset about this,' Dean turns towards Hermione.
'I'm not upset about all this. I could give a rats ass about this. I'm upset that you willingly showed Gordon that you are a witch,' Hermione rolls her eyes. 'Don't you roll your eyes,'
'I can take care of myself, Dean. Don't worry,' Dean let's out a laugh.
'Is that why you don't tell Ellen or Jo or Ash?' Hermione looks away. 'Why are they different?'
'Gordon was alone,'
'Sure. Keep telling yourself that,' Dean moves away done with this conversation but Hermione isn't done yet and follows him.
'Why do you all of the sudden care who knows if I'm a witch or not? Am I damaging your reputation?' Dean turns over towards Hermione.
'Gordon could tell everyone about your little secret. Then every hunter will come after you trying to kill you,'
'You're worried that you're little secret comes out. That you are working with a witch,' Hermione moves away from Dean and walks over towards the other side of the graveyard. Hermione knew she was right. Dean didn't care about her, he only cared about himself and his stupid job. Dean looks away from Hermione and spots a dying tree standing a little bit away from them. He frowns and walks over towards it. Hermione turns back towards Dean but he moved over towards the dead tree, she sighs and moves towards Sam. Sam looks up from the gravestone towards Hermione, she can see tears in his eyes.
'Where's Dean?' Hermione points behind her.
'Somewhere around there he spotted something,' Sam raises his eyebrow but notices Hermione's expression and lets the subject go.
