Chapter five

Katniss' pov

Gale stares at me, betrayal clear in his eyes. I can understand why, I mean I'm his girlfriend, and I cheated on him. Yes peeta may be my mate, but it doesn't make it right.

His gaze shifts to peeta, who's wearing a clear smirk that I want to smack of his face. Gales eyes fill with burning anger, which only makes said smirk bigger

He approaches us, which causes Peeta's instinct to set in, seeing as he pushes me back a few steps. Gale stops in front of us, his fists are draw in at his sides, almost turning white from the anger.

"What the hell!? How could you do that? With this thing?"he snarls.

Peeta's eyes glaze over with anger, and annoyance. Alphas don't like disrespect, gale should know that now, he is future beta.

Peeta was about to says something, but Annabelle took control and I beat him to it

"He's my mate retard"she fires back, gale steps back in shock, his eyes trailing back to peeta

"Annabelle, you didn't need to insult him" I scold her. She whimpers and retreats to the back of my mind.

"Y..your what?!"he asks, his steel grey eyes wide as the moon.

"Her mate. Didn't you hear her?"peeta response. Mock-sympathy clear in his voice.

"This better be some sort of joke katniss"he warns, his voice was thick with anger.

"Obviously she isn't. Jesus how small us your brain"peeta resorts. Gale growls deeply, sending shivers don't my spine

"I'm not afraid of you gale. I'm a alpha"he says, which causes gale to recoil a few paces.

"your mate is an alpha of another pack! Your father won't like this katniss"gale says, a knowing smirk on his face.

Never once in my life have I hated gale, yes we've fallen out, but I've never hated him. That is until now, now I want to murder him.

Not only did he threaten me, which is a sign of disrespect, but he threaten to stop me and my mate being together. Which has now got Annabelle going crazy with rage

I step forward so I'm in front of him, my eyes glaring into his. I can hear peeta protesting behind me, but I dismiss it. Now annabelle's in control, and she isn't going to let my back until she's finished

"I sometimes wonder why my father would choose you as future beta" I comment, making gales eyes harden

"What?"he snaps, I roll my eyes, letting out a annoyed sigh

"Well, gale, My father couldn't and wouldn't separate us, because he'd be disrespecting the moon goddesses. You must remember my father is a alpha, and a smart one at that, he wouldn't take someone away from their mate. Especially his daughter"I explain, authority slipping into my tone

I'm about to turn around, but gales hands lock around my wrists. He pulls me forward and crashes his lips to mine.

Since I met peeta every touch of gales has been somewhat disgusting. It's the whole mating bond thing, anyone who isn't my mate, and does something that shoes attraction or affection, has had me recoiling in disgust

Gales lips are chapped and rough compared to Peeta's, which are soft and have a Certain strawberry taste to them. Honesty I feel like throwing up.

I try and push gale off, but he's stronger and bigger than me, and he's got the upper hand. Actually he's got my hands, locked in one of his, stopping me from protesting

Without warning gale is thrown back, i stumble back a little, rubbing my mouth with my sleeve. I shake my head a few times, before letting Annabelle have control again. She has been giving me such a headache today

"WHAT THE HELL GALE!"I roar in my alpha voice, I notice peeta jump back in shock, and gale, well gale looks like he might cry

"W.what? I'm allowed to touch my girlfriend whenever I want"he says, his eyes darting toward peeta

We both hear a deep, angry growl, I turn and see peeta and his beta finnick standing there, anger clear on their face

"I would shut your mouth, before you have two alphas and a beta on your ass"finnick warns, I think we're going to get along fine

Gale gets up, and shoots into the woods. Probably to tell my parents, who can't do anything about it. The moon goddesses paired us up for a reason, he can't change that

Within a second of gale leaving, two Arms wrap around my waist spinning me, and pulling me close. Peeta nuzzles his nose into my neck, breathing in my scent

Mates have a calming effect on each-other. Their scents, touch, it works like magic. It calms anger, fear, anxiety, everything.

"How can you be friends with him?"he mumbles, my smile fades

"He isn't normally like this"I say, confusion lacing my tone

Finnick clears his throat awkwardly, making us turn around. Peeta's arms stay wrapped around my waist.

My ear pick up on a soft set of footsteps, I look over the the source, Annie is standing their, her eyes wide and panicked

"I heard you scream. Are you okay?"she gushes, her eyes trailing from my head, to my toes looking for injury

"I'm fine sweetheart. Gale is on thin ice though"I mutter, her eyes then pass over to peeta

His arms are still locked around my waist from behind, my hands fumbled with his, our fingers locked

"Who's this?"she mumbles, pink blushes traveling up her neck

"Oh right. Annie this is peeta, my mate. Peeta this is Annie, my best-friend"I say, she smiles

"Kat! You didn't tell me you found you're mate!"she gushes, I giggle quietly.

Finnick clears his throat again, I almost forgot he was here. Annie whips her head around, her eyes wide

"Who is that?"she whispers, I smile

"That is finnick, my beta"peeta says, she nods, her feet moving to their own accord

"I just gonna go talk to him"she mutters, I let out laugh, she sounds so lost

"Apparently Annie has a mate"I mutter, turning to face peeta

"What makes you think that?"he asks, I shoot a look behind me

"Because, Annie has never been interested in guys. She's wanting for her mate. Also have you seen finnck's face?"I ask, he looks behind me, realisation setting in

"I see"he says, I chuckle, just as my phone buzzes

Dad; home, now!

"peeta my dad wants to talk"I say, he sighs

"this will be a disaster"he says, I laugh, rolling my eyes

"my dad's a nice person"I comment, he nods

"I'm sure he is, just not toward to the boy who has been making out with his daughter"he says, i look up at him, a small smile placed on my lips

"you aren't just the boy that keeps making out with his daughter. Your my mate, he can't change that"I say, dragging him along with me.

Today has not gone as planned. Gale has been a monster, Annie's found her mate, it can't get weirder right?
