Inside a wide room displaying a high-tech facility with screens that exhibit different news and videos connected to the newfound virus. With the sound of heels hitting the floor as he walks, a man in his suit can be seen entering the said facility. Hair cleanly pushed back, a manly built adding to his handsome face, he walked at the center with hands on his waist.
"Have you dealt with the news channels?" he asked a staff in a lab coat beside him not taking his eyes on the screen for updates. "No need to worry, Sir Jackson Wang. The politicians made their own move on covering up the situation. Making the spread of the virus more of a flu that what it's actually is" he answered carefully making Jackson nod in satisfaction.
"I'm guessing the politicians will take over that part without even a command." With confidence ,Jackson stated. "So, how's the progress about the virus?" he added. The staff gestured a computer personnel to display a video and analysis on the wide screen. "It's outstanding sir." He stated with much gratification as if it was an art-like creation.
"People exposed with the virus presents greater strength than the usual adding to their barbaric nature. Loss of self-control with the thirst of human flesh" the staff described. "As of the moment, we contained the infecteds inside a town for further observation. It was a fast spread I must say. It took only a few hours for the town to be covered" he added. Visibly satisfied, Jackson changed the topic "How about our virologists? Did they come up with a vaccine?"
Upon ending his words, another person in her lab coat and eyeglasses entered the room. Physically young but intimidating "No. not yet." She answered hearing the latter's question. "Oh. Isn't this our very own Son Chaeyoung" Jackson dramatically smiled seeing one of the virologists. But the latter didn't show any interest seeing Jackson.
Passing by the two, Chaeyoung just picked up some data from one of the personnels and was ready to head out when Jackson interrupted and said. "How's Ms. Myoui doing? Isn't she astonished on how much progress her creation made?" But Chaeyoung's facial expression obviously states the opposite.
Chayoung turned to look at Jackson, adjusting her eyeglasses, she stated "I do believe that you're completely aware that this is not part of the deal, Mr. Wang. That makes your statement invalid in every corner of it" she ended, bowing to him before completely leaving the room.
At the same time in another room filled with microscopes, biosafety cabinets, incubators and equipments that are highly used inside a laboratory, there revealed another person wearing a lab coat. An angel-like beauty that complements her silent personality. At the far corner divided another space, seated in front of a computer with 3 screens, the person carefully analyzes the data presented. Distinctly gathering every functional information for her research and experiment.
"His here, Mina" hearing the disclosure, the said virologist's analysis was put into halt. "I know" Mina replied shortly before resuming to her analysis. Ignoring the cold reply, Chaeyoung told Jackson's message to her which put Mina to a full stop on her work.
Feeling the sudden rage of anger, Mina abruptly stood from her seat and walked pass the younger virologist. Chaeyoung caught Mina's cold stare with a mix of irritation from what she heard as she passed but the younger was able to hold Mina's arm to stop her.
"Mina...you do realize that it will go nowhere" Chaeyoung said pertaining to the possible conversation that Mina was about to have with Jackson. A conversation that occurred many times but always resulted on Mina being the lower hand. The older virologist pulled her away gripping her hands into a fist. "What do you want me to do? Wait?" Mina replied, clearly showing signs of being emotional on the topic. "Do you want me to be proud about this virus? To be astonish at how many lives it took?!"
Chaeyoung was taken aback at how frustrated the older virologist was but she can't be swept by it. She needs to stand firm for them to survive this place. Someone has to think straight no matter what. "Isn't it the sole purpose of this virus? To be a biochemical weapon..." Chaeyoung's statement made Mina looked somewhere else in silence, she couldn't argue due to the statement being valid. "What's not part of the plan was that it was release too soon... Incomplete and without a vaccine to cure it." The younger added as she scans some documents.
"and without our consent..." Mina added calming herself from the sudden anger. Jackson Wang, the vice president of the nation informed that they would start testing the virus to humans, but the two virologists thought that they will use subjects from prison with lifetime sentence with grave and multiple crimes. With the vice president, being overwhelmed on what the virus capabilities, he decided to test it in a town near the capital.
"The best thing we could do now is find a cure to be free from this place. And to hope...that your daughter is alive." Chaeyoung's latter words echoed in Mina's mind making her mumble unconsciously as she got into a trance.
"Ryujin..."
