Caia's mind was racing. She couldn't let this happen. His hands on her body made her feel grimy and disgusting. When he put his lips to hers, she almost threw up. There was no way she could go through with what he wanted.

Suddenly, her eyes flicked over to the gun lying on the edge of her bed. Noah was distracted. He was also incompetent. He would never see it coming.

Caia pushed herself off the desk and put her arms around Noah' s back, pulling him close to her. He seemed to think this meant she was enjoying the one sided make out session, so he smiled against her lips and moved his face into the crook of her neck. Caia shuddered. She did not like that.

Caia pulled Noah towards the bed. He didn't seem to realize what she was doing. Once there, he tried to push Caia back onto the bed, not expecting Caia to reach out her hand and grab the gun from where it lie next to them.

Once her hand was wrapped around the base of the revolver, she brought her hand up, smashing the barrel into the side of Noah's head.

He immediately recoiled, and Caia took this opportunity to bring her knee right between his legs, hard. Removing his hands from Caia's body and pressing them to the now bloody wound he possessed, Noah growled dangerously. "You bitch," he hissed.

Noah started towards Caia, but she raised her hands, the gun clasped tightly between them. "Stay back," she warned. "Stay back, or I shoot."

Noah backed up, his hands in the air. However, even with a gun trained on his head, he still had a cocky smile plastered on his face. "Clever trick, Sweet Cheeks. I'm impressed. I guess I underestimated you," he admitted. "However, I think we both know you can't use that. You're too weak, can't stomach the outcome. Anyway, I doubt you know how to."

Caia gulped. He wasn't wrong. She had never shot a gun before, and she wasn't sure what she'd do if she actuay shot Noah, much less killed him.

"Get out," she commanded, trying to cover the shaking in her voice. "Go. And tell your stupid gargoyle gang to take this sacrifice off my back." She paused, staring Noah down. "Leave me alone."

Noah scoffed, clearly not impressed. "Yeah right, doll face."

Caia had had it. She cocked the gun and quickly pulled the trigger. The bullet flew through the air, entering the wall centimeters from Noah's head.

That seemed to bring him to his senses. Noah's face sobered, dropping the infamous smirk. However, he replaced it with a nervous smile as she attempted to inch towards the door. "Woah, there, tiger," he called. "Don't do something you'll regret. I'll just leave, and I'll tell them I did the job." Caia kept the gun trained on his forehead, her face cold and stony. Once he was safely out the door, Noah let down his guard a little bit. "Still, babe, I'd watch your back. You're not out of the woods yet." Before Caia could do anything else, Noah disappeared down the stairs.

As soon as she heard the front door slam, Caia melted down the side of the bed and onto the floor. Adrenaline was rushing through her veins, and her hands were shaking like mad. A few more moments and she doubted if she would be able to hold the gun.

Caia set the revolver on the floor and hurried her face in her hands, letting the tears flow. She had almost become a victim and a murderer all in a matter of minutes. She had no idea how she would tell Reggie. If she even could tell Reggie.

Caia lifted her head, the tears still falling. She pushed herself off the floor, grabbing the gun. She turned around and lifted her mattress, feeling for the broken spot in the bedframe she knew was there. Once found, she reached in, pulling out the shoe box. Caia removed the lid, setting the gun on top of her stash of extra cash before replacing the lid and returning the box to its hiding spot.
