Chapter 6: Reading Helps Us Learn ;)

Kakashi's P.O.V.

I guided Yumi back to the hospital and led her to her room. We were about to walk through the door when a voice called out from... somewhere.

"MY LEG!!"

(A/N- sponge bob reference xD)

I shrugged it off and we went into her room. A nurse came in and gave Yumi a gown to put on and told her to get into the bed when she had finished.

After a few minutes, Yumi walked out in the hospital gown. A very... Short.. Gown. My eye twitched as a dark stain formed in the front of my mask. Before Yumi could notice, I turned around and changed masks. That was a close one.

Yumi was watching me weirdly and shrugged her slender shoulders before climbing into the hospital bed, revealing a slightly tan thigh. Holy. Shit. Monkeys.

"Kakashi, are you alright?" Yumi asked, seeing my face go red.

"Uh, yeah. Just not a big fan of hospitals, ya know?" I lied easily, covering for my blushing face. How is it that this girl I barely know can make me act like a little school boy with a crush??

"Come over here," she quietly demanded, looking into my eye. I gulped and walked towards her, noticing that her masked mouth was turned up in a smirk. As I came closer, I noticed a large silver body had placed itself next to the bed and had started to flick it's tail.

Miya lifted her head from her silver paws and looked up at me. I nodded to the great cat and she blinked slowly, her blue eyes seeming to study me, before she lowered her head once more.

I stood beside Yumi's bed and looked down at her, trying not to look at her long legs.

"Yes?" I asked

And before I could blink, I was laying on the bed beside Yumi, and was listening to the sound of her light laughter.

"If you don't like hospitals, and are charged with watching me, I guess I could make you more comfortable." she stated simply, still laughing.

If only she knew just how UNcomfortable I was right now..

"So," she continued after her laughter had ceased, "I was thinking we could read together."

I tilted my head slightly, a little confused.

"Read together? What would you like to read?"

"Our favorite series of course!! I saw you reading the new edition earlier and I wanna read too."

I swear if I could die right then, I would. This beautiful woman laying next to me on a bed, wanted to read Icha Icha Paradise with me? Could she be anymore perfect??

"Um.. Ok..." I replied, blushing slightly. I pulled out my book and opened it to where I left off. Yumi pressed against my side and read over my shoulder. What she didn't realize was that in this position, every breath she took rubbed her chest against my arm. I better get some damn good luck in the future for having this much patience and self control.

We sat together, reading silently. Both reading at the same pace. Surprisingly, despite the material we were reading, it was quite peaceful. We didn't talk, but then again, we didn't need to. It was a comfortable silence that held no awkwardness at all. That is.. until we got to a rather *cough cough* mature scene in the book. I could feel my own cheeks turning red and heating as I read, and out of the corner of my eye I saw Yumi and gasped.

She was still reading, but her cheeks(what I could see of them) had taken on a light red color, and her crystaline blue eyes had a glazed look to them. Never in my life had I thought a woman so beautiful as I did now.

And she looked at me. What surprised me more was that she leaned in close to me....

(A/N- AH HA!! Cliffhanger :) isn't Kaka so cute?!
