Chapter 13

As I walked in surrounded by glamorous gowns,stunning skirts, each one utterly beautiful, How am I supposed to choose just one?????

"There lovely aren't they" a woman said from behind the counter.

"They are I have no clue how I'm going to choose" I replied well it's true I honestly don't.

"What are you looking for ?" She asked.

"Well .... I'm having a masquerade ball for my birthday and I need a dress and mask. I think" I said. She laughed and smiled at me.

"Let's see what we've got then" she ran her hand through a rack of dressed with bright colours. She picked out four dresses. One blue with purple and gold sequins in a sort of ombré, it was strapless skirt but slightly puffy. Another plane white and very long with a halter neck strap. the third was pink and gold very long and strapless again. The fourth was long and a dark purple with a v-neck and two thick shoulder straps.

As I was looking over them about to try them on Ryder walked in a grin lighting up his face.
"Do you like it in here?" he asked.
"Dumb question or what. This is like a dream." Yes that was all I could say.

*An hour and a bit longer*

"Are you sure this is your favourite?" Ryder asked as I spun for him.
"Yes this ones beautiful it perfect" I replied.
"I knew you'd say that it's my favourite on you too." Awwwwww.
We both picked the first one, it seemed like it had been made for me.

As I walked up to the counter the woman suddenly exclaimed "so sorry hang on a moment."
She went through a couple of draws then placed a mask on the top of the desk.
It matched the dress with colours but was shaped as a peacock. It was truly stunning. The woman smiled at me then looked at Ryder and got teary eyed.
"I know it's you Ryder, I knew it when you walked in. I've missed you son so has Alex. I knew your mother would want your girly to have this." She handed me the mask. Now I was all most crying.
"Thank you" I replied wrapping an arm around Ryder. He kissed my forehead head and said "she's right mum would love a girl like you to have it" now I was crying.
Ryder went to give some money to the lady but she put her foot down and wouldn't let us pay her at all.

"No Amanda take it, please mum would want us to give you something" Ryder said to her.

"No it's her birthday present she doesn't have to pay."

"Amanda" I said clasping her hand "take it we want you to have it"

"A tener at the most that's all I will take for it" Ryder gave her a huge and slipped a £20 note in her pocket without her noticing. I then placed a £10 note on the counter.

"Thank you millions, I'll be the prettiest birthday girl ever" I joked.

"You would be anyway" Amanda said now giving me a warm embrace.

"Hey that line could have earned me boyfriend points" Ryder laughed.

"I'll see you soon guys" Amanda said as we left with the two most beautiful pieces of clothing ever.
