Jakes POV
The clock ticked away counting every boring second as it passed, but even as the clock verged on the time of freedom it seemed to slow down with every new surge of anticipation that pounded through Jake’s veins, he needed to get out of this math class, away from the grouchy teachers and loud students, go somewhere he could think in peace and have a plan, a good plan for the future so he could prevent anything from being revealed that shouldn’t be.
He looked back up at the clock hopefully, but every second seemed like a minute and every excruciating minute seemed like an hour. He peered over at Cynthia, who was more interested in her nails then the math book in front of her, Jake’s eyes wafted over too Scarlett, her dark brown glossy hair fell over her face as she wrote in her book, she had a nice tan even though it was winter and a cute appearance Jake had never noticed before. He shook the thought out of his head and recalled his earlier discussion with Cynthia.
Cynthia: “Okay so the plan is, I will take the photo then you and I will project it through the computer room into the cafeteria at exactly 12:50 that way the students will all have time to order their food and take a seat, we will spread rumours a fight going to happen their to get even more people’s attention."
Jake: "But can't we just leave it? I'm over this fight and Morgan."
Cynthia: "Are you freaking serious? Do you not remember what they did to me? This fight has only just begun and I am going in to win, so your either with me or you can fuck off!"
Jake swalled as he remembed that moment, the anger from her eyes the temor of her look and the feeling of worthlesness swelled him. He knew what she meant as he knows it now, if he dosn't help her, then she leaves him and Jake truly have nothing worth working for in this world. he said yes, there was no other option for him.
Finally the bell goes and Jake packs up his things and heads to freedom with his girl by his side, they didn't say anything, just held hands. Sitting down for lunch they ate and with every bite he swallowed down a new mouthful of guilt. He felt bad for Scarlett even though he hates to admit it and would never out loud but Cynthia's plan is just awful.
Cynthia glared at him knowingly.
"What is wrong with you? They started this if you don't remember." Jake shuffled in his chair and frowned as he watched Scarlett sit down a few tables away. Cynthia took his hand and her anger seemed drowned by her large eyes." I know, it's mean and horrible but they would do the same if they were us, wouldn't they?" Jake looked from her hand back to Scarlett as Shane took a seat next to her his eyes brimming with self-confidence.
Jake relaxed on his chair and grinned. "So you gonna get a slushy?" Cynthia returned the grin.
"Maybe you should get it." Jake knew that she was testing him to see if he would actually go through with it, but since this wasn't the worst part of the plan he decided to make Cythia proud.
*************** Yesterday afternoon
Cynthia: "Jake this is Morgan, he used to go to school with Scar."
Jake: "How did you find him?"
Cynthia: "Word got around that I had a quarrel with our little Scar and he found me on facebook, he has something against her too."
Jake: "So what's the plan?"
Morgan: "Well I don't have a plan for you, but I do have information."
Jake: "Information?"
Morgan: "Yes Scar, as you know her, has a very intresting past."
*************
Jake started moving back towards the table his girl was at but made sure Scars table was in his bee-line. Shane and Scar were in a deep conversation when Jake 'tripped' over a chair and spilt his slushi all over Scarlett, she jumped up gapping at her soaked outfit. Shane got up too and grabbed me by my shirt and pulled my face close to his.
"You little punk, you think this is funny? How immature are you?" Jake slapped his hand away, stood up and brushed himself off.
"It was an accident, sorry." Jake spat at Shane. Then he turned to Scarlett. "Sorry about your outfit." Even though he had wanted to spit out the appology at her with anger and fake sympathy it seemed to come out with sincerity.
He turned on his heel as the bell went for the next period. Now the rest was up to Cynthia.
************** Cynthia's POV
I was hiding in the bathroom closest to the cafeteria for what seem like ever. I was in one of cubicles waiting for my prey. Suddenly the sound of a door creeping open made me jump, I listened as the sound of steps became louder and the sound of metal clicked as somebody locked themselfs into the cubicle next to mine, I looked down and could just make out a pair of black boots, a smile crept over my face.
I now know that Scar is in the stall next to mine and I grabbed my phone from my jeans pocket, I knew she would just be changing shirts but it still felt extremely weird, I pushed my phone to the top of the stall and took a photo quickly then sent it to Jake and deleted it off my phone (in case I was caught) then I pressed the flush button on the toilet and praticly ran out the bathroom, leaving the tap on for no reason really.
Lunch has finally arrived and my plan must triamph, I was now in the computer lab facing a projector into the caferteira, I had waited for Jake to show up and he didn't. I guess I shouldn't be suprised, he was always weak.
But then the door barged open, Jake ran through.
"Where have you been?" I tried to stay calm. Jake looked like he had ran a marathon and was puffing like mad as he rushed to tell me his story.
"I am so sorry, I had lost my phone and I was called up to the office, somebody handed it in." I nodded frowning, that dosn't happen often I thought but I didn't say that to Jake, I looked at the time on my phone and grabbed his from his hand, we still have a few minutes.
I checked out the picture I took earlier, Scar looked pretty pissed with the slushied shirt on the ground and a spare school shirt in her left hand, I frowned, does she always bring an extra shirt? How weird. Then I zoomed into the photo and examined the scar above the left side of her chest and grinned, now I have the evidence, all that's left to do is to preview it to the world.
Jake plugged the connector cord into the computer and I gave him the phone, he plugged that in too. Them he did some nerdy stuff on the computer and checked the time, right on spot. He pulled the photo next to an old one of Scarlett, with scruffy hair, no make-up and preveiwing the same scar, I saw this photo before but I can still picture, it, on the computer though they looked just like picture files.
"How do you know there are the right photo's?" I questioned.
"I titled them LOl.1 and LOl.2." He answered without looking at me. We both stood up to look out the window at our work and my jaw dropped.
There was no picture of scar but two pictures, of Scar and Shane. Both of them kissing somebody else.
