You carried me in your womb, dear Mamya. Sustained me as no one else could. Provided me with shelter from the cold, and cradled me in your protective arms. For weeks on end and then some more, you shed not a tear for your outstretched belly, for your focus remained on my welfare, you willingly offered up what you could share... and more. Mamya, this is what I have to tell you. It makes me feel somewhat embarrassed to remind you of this, but I still need you in my life. I still crave the warmth of your protection. I had envisioned a longer connection between us, one that saw you growing so old and decrepit, before I lost you. I still keep you in my heart, dear Mamya─I will do this no matter what circumstances I find myself in. Now that I am a grown man, I replay what you must have endured. I recall the stories and the hugs and the atta-boys as I sucked my thumb in your warm fluidic embrace. So Mamya, in your place of eternal rest, you can know that I am forever in your debt. And I hope that this message sent from one grown-up to another, one child to his mother; one loving son to his Mamya, finds you well.
