Chapter 32

* Two Weeks Later*

Y/N's POV

I walk into Tom's cell, he took the offer two weeks ago, I don't think he had any hope that the other two would come for him. As for Edd, they've been sending letters back and forth, today Edd is coming here and attempting to get Tom's freedom. " Thanks for the bed... " he looks over at it. The bed I asked for was set up two days ago. He didn't have any clue about it, he could tell it was me just by how quiet my footsteps were. 

" What do you and the commie want? " Tom turns to me, he doesn't say it in annoyance more like tiredness, " I convinced him to build something to get you to return your eyesight".  He looks to where my voice is, the blindfold still concealing his eyes.  He still doesn't know what the boys plan to do to get him back. " What did it take? " he looks to me, " what do you mean? ", he pauses, " tell me the truth are there cameras in here? ". I pause, swallow and shake my head, " no because I know you took them down except for that one " I point to the one outside his cell. 

" At least you had enough common sense to say the truth  " he snickers. " I know you used to know us in highschool..." he admits. I stand there frozen, " so why are you doing this? " he asks,  nothing comes out of my mouth.  " None of your concern," I say breathless, I turn to leave the cell but he grabs my arm. 

" Ho-how? " I say stuttering, " smell...I promise I won't hurt you, I just wanna know why? Y/N, you still know me...but why are you doing this? ". " I have to go " I grab my arm from his wrist and lock him in.  How does he remember me? the most important question...should I tell Tord? If I do I don't know how he'll react. 

At the same time, he used to hide things from me and I hated it, being left in the dark.  I don't want to ruin that trust, I only went in there to tell him about the viser and progress, I didn't even get a chance to tell him before he told me about his memories. I should tell him, I'll tell him... 

I go to Tord's office, " ready to talk to him? " he turns to me handing an earpiece, " of course " I smile sweetly, " if you- ". " If I need any help I'll contact you by talking into the earpiece and as for Edd and Matt's deal I have to find a way to bring them back here ".  I put the earpiece in and Tord helps me with the jacket on. It's red with black trimming and the inside with white fur, I throw my hair over my shoulders.  

I walk out to cold, the breezes kissing my neck and cheek.  " Y/N? right? " I hear a voice call out, I nod.  It is Edd, he has a bit of stubble, a small beard and now he has a black overcoat for the cold.  " Does he even know we're here? " Edd speaks, I shake my head, " no clue, they plan on keeping him, " I say. 

Edd frowns, he's grim..." what did he do with him? " Edd snarls, I shrug, " come into the base and find out for yourself " I offer. " No, that's a death trap " he mumbles into his earpiece, " you work for the king's claw? " he nods. 

" Your friend was about to sell me out to them...I'm not mad...I would've done it too if it meant you'd be free from millions of dollars worth of debt " Edd kicks the snow on the ground. " So he told you? " I nod, " so why are you here then? to catch me and our third friend? ". 

" I'm more of a middle ground..." I say silently.  " Do you even know what he looks like underneath the mask? " I look away. " No...but we're designing something to allow him to see again, " I say.  " But you're keeping him blind in the meantime, treating him like an animal " there's a sharp tone in him.
