March tenth. -One month after Niall left.

Tessa sat on her couch as she leaned into Lances side with his arm around her. His right hand was placed on her thigh, squeezing it as they watched a movie.

Tessa was happy with her new life. She was happy with Lance. She had stopped therapy, not even upset at the thought of not getting her memory back. In fact, she didn't care if she got it back. It still aggravated her, but she was okay. She had Lance, her aunt and uncle, friends.

Lance looked over to Tessa as she tried to keep her focus on the movie. "I love you." Tessa smiled, looking over at him. It wasn't the first time he had confessed it, yet, she still felt the butterflies she always felt around him.

"You are my life now." Tessa said, meaning every word. She closed the few inches between them by touching her lips to his.

Niall gave up too quickly. He could have had her. He could have got her back the very same way he got her in the first place. The only problem was he was afraid he would take away the happiness she had just for his own jealous reasons. So he let her go.

It crushed Tessa when Niall completely stopped talking to her. He made excuses about being too busy to Skype her, or even call her. He was her best friend, and she lost him. Just like he lost her.

He reasoned with himself that he was doing it for her own good. But really, being her best friend was helping her. He ignored her because he simply couldn't stand the fact she found love. Yet, he was glad she was happy and that it was with a guy like Lance.

Lance was sweet, stable and an all around gentleman. He would never hurt her intentionally and he never lied to her. Niall knew it, in fact it help him. If Lance was someone like Luke, Niall may have just killed the guy and got Locked up for it.

It was hard for Niall. The boys noticed it too. His usual carefree spirt was crushed, replaced with a nothing. He had no expression. He lost his happiness, his face lost the dazzling smile, his walk lost its pep, his singing lost its melody. He hardly talked, even to the boys.

But Tessa was happy. That's all he needed to live.

"You seem happy." Simon said as Tessa walked through the living room to the kitchen.

Tessa smiled. "Yeah, just got home from breakfast with Lance."

Simon sighs, he was rutting for Niall. "Isn't that lad a little old for you?"

Tessa giggled, poking her head through the door from the kitchen to the living room. "And how much older are you then Lauren?" Tessa grins as Simon rolls his eyes, dropping the subject. Tessa laughs as she goes back to the kitchen to grab a water.

"I still don't know about him." Simon stares at the TV with his arms crossed. Tessa plants herself on the large L-shaped couch and sipping her water.

Through the couple of months Simon and Tessa had regained some of their previous father daughter relationship. He had yet to tell her that he actually adopted her all those years ago. At this point in the game of life, he didn't think it would be that big of a deal.

"Uncle Simon, you'd like him." Tessa assures.

Simon couldn't help the grin that spread across his face as she called him Uncle. For the first month of her memory lose she didn't call him anything but 'Mr. Cowell' which with the combination of her not knowing him at all, hurt more then it should have.

That night Simon took Tessa out to dinner alone. He was risking the paps showing up and broadcasting that he was 'cheating' but he wanted it to be just he and her. After Simon explained, Lauren was all for it, she would have been fine even if it wasn't a special occasion though. And he knew that.
