Hikari's eyes darted around the gym, in search for that head of tousled white hair she was honestly anxious to see. While she was talking to her boyfriend in the bus, she had expressed her excitement to talk to the boy, but in truth, she was so worried that he would act cold towards her again, and she didn't want that at all. She didn't know how to act if that was how things played out again.
"Hika!"
Hikari's eyes landed on the owner of the voice. All her worries were suddenly washed away as grin made its way onto her face.
"Hiro!" Hikari's giggles echoed through the gym as she zoomed in her cousin's direction, zigzagging through the gym to avoid those who were practicing.
"Oi Hikari, get back here!" Daichi yelled at the girl as she bolted, but Hikari couldn't hear her captain calling after her, with her previously hostile cousin now acting like his old self again.
When Hikari ignored his words, Daichi's face turned sour and was going to run after the girl, but Kageyama stopped him.
"Captain, I think it's best we leave her alone with her cousin to talk."
"Cousin?!" Karasuno roared altogether, as if they'd rehearsed it beforehand.
Right. The members of the Karasuno Volleyball Club still didn't know her cousin was in Seijoh.
"Why didn't she say anything?" Daichi seethed. Kageyama could practically see his veins around his neck pop out in anger.
"She just found out he'd be going here, last Saturday." Kageyama shifted his gaze to the girl who was currently clinging onto Hiro's back, much like how she did to him by the school gates the other evening.
"H-Hikari's c-cousin...?" Before Hinata found out about this, he was already shaking in his boots, but after hearing this, the boy could barely stand anymore. He was already too anxious to have his first match, and coupling that with the thought of going against someone who might've had the same skillset as the female ace, further scared the hell out of the poor boy. Nobody stopped him when he hastily excused himself to go to the toilets again.
"You made it, Hika!" Hikari could hear the smile in his tone as he spoke.
"Of course I made it!" She scoffed jokingly, before getting off the boy's back, who turned around to face her.
"So, did you decide you wanted to come to Seijoh after all?" Hiro's eyes were sparkling when he asked, still hopeful that she had changed her mind since their last encounter.
Hikari looked warily around them as he asked his question, and was relieved when she saw that there wasn't anyone within earshot of their conversation.
"Well," Hikari started bouncing on the balls of her feet, her hands folded behind her back as she kept her gaze fixed on her beaming cousin. "That's actually something I wanted to talk to you about."
Hiro's eyes narrowed at her for a second, before humming as if he was carefully studying her, then nodding his head with the smile back on his face. "Okay, we should probably talk somewhere else then."
Hiro went to ask Iwaizumi for permission to step out with Hikari for a bit.
"Oh? Where is she?" Iwaizumi asked, wanting to see his former teammate too.
"Over there." Hiro replied, pointing towards his cousin who started waving frantically at Iwaizumi when she saw that he was looking at her.
"That's Hikari, alright..." Iwaizumi chuckled, giving her a small wave in return as he realized that the only thing that changed about the happy go lucky girl he knew in middle school, was her hair.
