Following Karasuno's win in the practice match against Seijoh, Hikari's thoughts had been on nothing but a certain white-haired male, who suddenly disappeared while her team was having a mini celebration on their side of the court. When she asked Iwaizumi where Hiro was, he said that Hiro told him he had to leave immediately since there was something he had to tend to at home.
Hikari was disappointed that he had left just like that. She was hoping to talk to him after the game, not only to make sure he was okay, but she also wanted to clear things up with him.
Of course, Hikari was more than happy that she would be staying in Karasuno, and that Hiro would finally stop trying to get her to transfer to Aoba Johsai, but there was that other portion of the deal she forgot to mention to her boyfriend during the confrontation.
Her own voice rang in her head as she remembered those exact words she spoke.
"I promise I'll do my part in helping you keep that promise."
Hikari could only hope Hiro didn't think too much of those words she spoke.
"Snowy."
Hikari's head darted in the direction of her boyfriend who she'd been waiting to finish changing back into his clothes, while she got lost in her thoughts.
"Are we going already?" She asked, getting ready to pick up her gym bag and stand up.
"Don't move." Kageyama started approaching her with a solemn expression, his hands clenched at his sides.
"What?" She asked with furrowed brows, but nonetheless staying seated.
Kageyama didn't reply and got on one knee as he closed the distance between the two.
"W-what are you doing?" Kageyama didn't respond yet again.
Kageyama unzipped his bag and started filtering through the contents of his bag.
"O-oi, Tobio. Seriously, w-what's this?" Her heart was hammering in her chest as she watched his hands go through his bag. Her cheeks were probably already tinted pink as she thought about what Kageyama was doing right now.
He's not thinking what I think he's thinking right? I mean, we're too young! I do love him, but I'm only 16! Heck, he's only 15! What is he—
"Is your ankle hurting again?" Kageyama's words broke her out of her thoughts. He spoke without looking at her, his eyes still trained on the contents of his bag, but before she could actually process the words he said, her lips parted.
"Yes!"
They both froze.
Hikari's eyes nearly popped out of their sockets as she actually processed his words, and then her own.
If he did ask that question, I would've sounded so freaking desperate. What was I thinking?Hikari mentally cursed at herself for thinking he'd pop that question out of nowhere.
Kageyama paused only gave her a worried glance. If she replied that fast, it really must be hurting pretty bad, right? He cursed under his breath as he continued looking through the contents of his bag.
"Where's that damn muscle spray?" Kageyama groaned, now frantically searching for the can he'd so carefully taken from the team's gear earlier, still oblivious of Hikari's internal struggle.
Hikari finally snapped out of it at the mention of the muscle spray. "Wait, muscle spray?"
"Yeah, your ankle isn't—" Kageyama mumbled, before finally finding the can of muscle spray, and pulling it out of the bag. "Ahh, here it is!"
