(A/N uhhh okay idfk, were gonna go a little further into encre's background and yes, I'm going to be referencing to the french civil wars. mind you not much of this will be historically accurate cause this is a fanfic so don't get pissed at me. also, I'm gonna be introducing new characters.)
3rd person:
After five solid years of Fallacy's and Encre's child being born the little one became curious of the past and what had happened before their creation. becoming clever and figuring out how to unlock locked doors and go into rooms once out of reach.
Encre's P.O.V
"Fallacy!" I called entering into his study. "yes love?"
"Have you seen Maria??" he looked up worried. "I haven't, I thought she was with you." oh god... Maria has a talent for running off somewhere in the castle, and staying hidden for hours on end. Usually if I'm unavailable, we have the servants take care of her, but that just increases her chance of running off. god Maria where are you... wandering down the corridors and hallways searching for my little girl. upon looking more closely, I found a staircase that went down near the back of the castle. I remember Fallacy telling me the main layout of the castle, where the bathrooms, bedrooms and what not were, but he also told me where the stairs were. he never told me about this one...
It seemed to give off almost a haunting feel... maybe I should ignore it... but what if Maria is down there? doors we had left locked specifically so she couldn't get in had been un-locked some how. the servants would know better then to disobey myself and Fallacy. god don't tell me she knows how to pick locks... slowly and cautiously, I wandered down the stairs. the large basement was dimly lit, with a tall ceiling; along the walls I could see carvings and stone statues embedded in the wall.
is this some sort of twisted tomb? as I wandered I saw... coffins... human remains covered in cobwebs... at what I thought was the end of the hall I saw Maria. "Maria! there you are I was-" as I ran to hug her and pick her up she faded away like mist. "Maria?" I looked around in slight fear. My visioned blurred and when I could properly focus again, I saw the Notre Dame church back home in pairs... where I used to live... but there was fighting everywhere, like its had been for what felt like forever when I was young. I saw my mother holding my former self close, amongst the many people around us dying and fighting... I had a physical form but nobody seemed to know I was there. making my way back to the front steps of the church I watch in horror as I relived my childhood.
hearing a canon fire, followed by the crumbling of something above me. I looked up and saw one of the pillars from the church about to fall on me. "Encre!" I heard someone call me name. as the pillar hit me, I fell... backwards?? I had shut my eyes but when I opened them, I was in a large crowd witnessing a mass execution I saw my father's head in the way of the guillotine's blade. "Dad!!" I cried you as the blade fell and his body dusted. I felt as if I was going to pass out. I shut my eyes once more.
when I opened them I was back in the tomb with fallacy not far from me. "Encre! what the hell are you doing in here?!" I sat up on my knees practically traumatised by what I had seen... "F- Fallacy..." He came over to me holding me close and calming my shaking body. "I... how-"
"just forget it okay, we'll talk about this later." Fallacy picked me up bridle-style taking me back to the rest of the castle. "was Maria-"
"yes she was. she was hiding in the library." I nodded. "can I see her?" fallacy sighed taking me to Maria's Play room setting me on my feet. "Maria?" she looked up from what she was doing. "mommy!" Maria ran and hugged me. I got down to her level and hugged he back tightly, tears threatening to fall. "mama? whats wrong?"
"nothing sweetie... just over worrying myself." I kissed her forehead standing back up. Fallacy smiled, taking me to our room. when I entered into the bedroom, I felt my legs give out on me causing me to fall. I finally broke down into tears while Fallacy managed to get me back on my feet and to our bed. He sat me down the edge and held me close. "shhh, whatever you saw down there, I know it was probably horrible. but they were just memories..." wait... he knows about what I saw? "wh- what do you mean?"
"that tomb is supposed to be closed off for a reason." he started. "that god damned place is cursed. it causes mostly only mortals to see what they fear loosing and or make them relive traumatizing memories." mortals? fallacy turned me into a vampire already, I shouldn't have been effected... "but Fallacy... you turned me into a vampire..."
"I know... and that's whats confusing me. maybe its just gotten worse over the years..." he said sighing. "just don't ever go down there again, okay?" I nodded, burying my face in Fallacy's shoulder as he held me. "if... if its okay with you, can you tell me what you saw?" I flinched, not expecting his question or wanting to remember those horrible memories. "I- I'd rather not..." Fallacy rested his hand on my waist firmly. "it's alright. don't worry about it then." feeling a sense of safety enter my body, I smiled, keeping my arms tightly wrapped around Fallacy.

it had been a few hours and I was sitting in Maria's play room keeping an eye on her while Fallacy was in a meeting. As she played one of her toys began to float. I grabbed it before it could go to far. "Maria sweetie," she looked to me. "can you tell mama how you make things float around like this?" I asked, interest being piqued toward her magic. "I dunno." she said. "the just do sometimes."
"so you can't control it?" Maria shook her head. maybe she'll learn how to control it as she grows up. "why are you asking mama?" I smiled. "neither myself or your father have the ability to make things just float."
"oh. is that a bad thing?" I pulled Maria up onto my lap. "no, no sweetie. I'm actually impressed." she looked at me confused."what does that mean?" I chuckled softly. "Impressed basically means you are happy with someones abilities. that or something similar." she smiled. "and that's a good thing?" I held her close and nodded. "of course, silly. why would that be a bad thing?" Maria smiled and giggled as I let go of her so she could continue to play.
Fallacy's P.O.V
"for god sake, she's five. and I promised Encre I wouldn't rush her childhood." I spoke firmly to werewolf sitting on the other end of the table. "and yet you promised a daughter five years ago. we're getting impatient and we don't care about any stupid promise you made." the werewolf in question was named Ellinair. I had to do everything I could to hide my anger. "well, if you have a heir the is Maria's age, you might get her sooner."
"that's what I thought, cause in fact I do have one her age. his name is Conin." dammit... I've grown so attached to Maria I'm dreading the day we'll have to marry her off. I sighed. "fine. but I refuse to even get ready to let her go until she's 15."
(a/n this is actually fact. royals and young daughters were socially expected to be married off after at least age 13 up until the 1900's i think.)
Ellinair sighed. "alright then. we'll back off, but don't be surprised when we come back in ten years." Sighing, I agreed before Ellinair was escorted out. "goddamned werewolves..." I muttered. standing up, I left the council room. "suave?"
"yes m'lord?" I stopped to talk to him briefly. "I'm assuming Encre and Maria are where I last saw them?" Suave nodded. "yes, I was just in there a moment ago."
"thank you." He bowed and I headed to Maria's play room. "do you think you could start learning how to control your magic?" I overheard I as entered the room. "whats going on love?"
"oh, fallacy. were just talking about Maria's magic." Maria smiled and ran to me, hugging me tightly. I smiled, picking her up and sitting down next to Encre. "yea! mommy thinks its really cool with what my power is! he says I could do good things with it!" Maria energetically added. "well I'm sure you could."
"you think so dad?" I nodded. "of course. I'd expect nothing less from my daughter."
(A/N god- fuckin- kill me.)
