Encre's P.O.V
"still cold?" I had gotten lost in my thoughts when Fallacy asked bringing me out of my trance. "oh, uh, a little."
"you seem a little unnerved." he noted in a soft spoken voice. "something bothering you?" He seemed more concerned. "no, I'm... I'm fine, I just need to sift through my thoughts." he nodded. "feeling homesick?" Well, this is new. he seems more open, like he's a mortal. it's actually nice. "a little bit yes..." Fallacy looked at me gently. "...well, I could see if you could go retrieve a few things from your house... the only problem is we can only do it over the cover of night and even then there are still guards posted around the area..."
"don't worry about it Fallacy, it's fine. but there is one item in particular..." I trailed off trying not to make him stress about anything. Fallacy looked to a clock on the wall. "I suppose if were quick we could get it but, we have to make sure nobody sees us." I nodded my head.

Encre's P.O.V
we made it to my home. a few times we could have sworn that someone had seen us. I opened the door and everything was right where I left it. almost as if time had just froze. "Fallacy?" I whispered. he looked to me not to say a word. "wait here, ok?" he nodded his head and transformed into a bat to make it less obvious that there was someone in my house. I quietly crept up the stairs. I glanced around my art room in the attic and was slightly startled when I realised that Fallacy had flown up the stairs. I looked at him confused. "I had a bad feeling." he said quietly. I glanced around the room and found a heart-shaped locket that my mother gave me just days before she died. Our attention was drawn to a loud noise from downstairs. I rushed down to see and what I saw was heartbreaking. there was a group of people lighting my home on fire. "W- WAIT! S- STOP!!" I shouted at them. One of them grabbed me. "burn it all to ashes." they demanded coldly. "N- NO!! STOP! LET ME GO!" 'fallacy! come on!' I thought. "F- FALLACY!!" I screamed. 'why isn't he responding!?' "There is nobody to save you, your coming with us!" I was dragged out of the house and thrown to the ground. I looked up to see guards. The aggressively picked me up. I continued to struggle, at least, until I was knocked out.

Fallacy's P.O.V
'go back you fool.'
'do you think you can just leave him?'
'you will be the reason he's executed.'
'traitor.'
these voices rang in my head as I flew away from the burning house. I had to leave him. he's a mortal, I'm a vampire I don't have time to mourn over someone. by the time I reached the castle, sitting down on one of the tower roofs, I could see the smoke from here.
'don't just sit there!'
'you idiot! don't abandon him!'
'you heartless bastard! go back for him!'
'he loves you, dammit!!'
I'm fucking useless! why dammit! tears began to run down my cheeks. I soon noticed the sun was starting to rise so I ducked into the open window of my room. I walked out of my room trying to hold myself together. "Fallacy." shit. of all people, thorn has to nag me. "what."
"where is Encre."
"he's... in bed." I lied. "no he's not."
"and how would you know." I snapped back starting to get frustrated with her. "if he was you would have looked at me. now tell me..." I looked back out of the corner of my eye. she had a silver blade in hand. "where is Encre?" I inhaled and turned around to look at her. "if I told you, you would kill me. If I didn't, what good would come out of killing me."
"enough games, TELL ME."
"gone. left at the village." her hands began to tremble. "y- you abandoned him... didn't you!?" I stared coldly into her eyes. I nodded. "YOU BASTARD!!" she lunged at me, but with her condition, it was easy to grab her wrist to deflect the attack. "those who fight in anger, fight blind." She stared at me for a moment. "listen, leaving him hurt me more then you think."
"THEN GO BACK AND GET HIM!!" she shouted tears now streaming down her face. "please... I don't want to lose him he's like family! you must have been spotted with him, anyone who has a relationship of any form involving love or friendship will be killed! if some is caught helping one it's the same consequence!! PLEASE!!" the silver blade dropped from her hand. "HE'S ALL I HAVE LEFT!! I'm in no condition to fight your the only one who can save him from death right now!! please, vampire... I'm sorry..." she begged. I let go of her and she fell to her knees. she's seventeen and is still no better than a ten year-old. I knelt down and lifted her head up. "fine, I'll go get him. but I doubt he'll forgive me." before I could react to anything, she hug-tackled me. "thank you!!" god, mortals are all the same, but in a sense she's kind-of like jasper. "I'm going to have to wait until sundown to go back and retrieve him. understood thorn?" I heard a muffled yes. god what have I done.
(A/N I skimmed back over this while listening to a sad song and I ligit cried. :'(
