(A/N remember how I said several time i was going to kill thorn? well, the time has come, so HERE. WE. GO. also, it's been another two months so encre is now four months pregnant. also, since the story takes place in the late 1800's but is still in a area that is developing slower then the rest of the world, rifles do exist.)

Encre's P.O.V

ever since Fallacy proposed to me, I feel as if the aura of the palace has gotten lighter. thorn seems alright, Fallacy was happy too. I was excited to finally be married to the man I love. as of right now I was in our room, on the sofa next to the window, quietly sketching the ring Fallacy had place ever so gently on my finger that day. I heard the door click and saw Fallacy walk in. he seemed... almost scared. "Fallacy?" he sat on the edge of the bed and put his hands over his face. I got up slowly, being mindful of my baby bump. I sat done next to him and made him look me in the eye. "Fallacy, whats wrong?" I asked firmly. "encre..."

"yes my love?" he paused. "I... I just received an anonymous tip from someone, they said that there are plans to assassinate you... I don't know why and I don't know who wants to do it... but I'm just so... so terrified..." he held me tightly. "Fallacy I'll be okay."

"but if you die, our child goes too... I can't loose another wife..." I took his hand and put it on my belly. "for god sake, I'll be okay, the child will be fine too. I promise."

"If... if you don't mind... I would prefer if you could stay close to me." sighing, I cuddled into Fallacy's chest. "alright... if it makes you feel better." I replied smiling. "thank you..."

It's been a few hours now. I've stuck to Fallacy's side not ever straying far. He seems so on edge... Fallacy was so happy before... why would someone want me dead? I... I never did anything wrong... Did I? I'm scared to be honest too... I don't wanna lose my baby... "Fallacy?"

"yes?" I rested my head on his chest. "what are we going to name the baby?" I had been thinking about it for a while. we haven't even made a list if names yet. "I'm not sure... what did you have in mind?" I paused for a few moments. "I was thinking about naming them Maria... but there were a few other names I had in mind just in case they were born a boy..."

"we'll have to make a list of names aren't we?" I smiled. "I suppose we will." Myself and fallacy went down to the main ball room and I wandered to the doors to a balcony just outside. "encre, I'd prefer you not..." Fallacy said quietly, putting his hand on my shoulder, gently stopping me. "The balcony is over 100 feet above ground, not even taking the cliff into account," The castle was built mainly on a large cliff/Plato, the ballroom and balcony being mainly on the edge. the cliff added another 250 feet onto the drop, the ground and surrounding area was filled with trees making it almost impossible to get a clear shot with a rifle or cross-bow. "it would be impossible for anyone to get a clear shot from the ground." I said taking fallacy's hand and opening the door. we stepped out onto the balcony, it was the middle of the night. the sky was pitch black but was lit up by the full moon and stars. I leaned against the railing looking up at the stars. Fallacy stood beside me, with one hand on my waist pulling me close.

"the stars are just as beautiful as you my love." I giggled softly. "oh hush you. I just can't wait until our child gets to see them too." Fallacy chuckled in response, kissing my cheek lightly. we stayed in this moment for what felt like hours. there was little vocal exchange, Fallacy just held me close keeping me warm in the cold winter's night air. We were brought out of our trance by one of the servants frantically trying to speak. "clam down what's wrong?" Fallacy said trying to make sense of what she was saying. "th- the assassin, they're here!" My eyes went wide hearing what she had just said. Fallacy glanced back at me with a horrified look in his eyes. before we could act, the assassin was standing in front of the stairs to leave the ball room. "Stay away from encre!" fallacy shouted at them. I was pretty much cornered. I couldn't go anywhere... if they got past fallacy... I'd die... I fell to my knees, muttering prayers quietly praying to any god that was out there to save us. "stay out of this, vampire. you shouldn't even try to get involved." I looked up to see them holding up a silver crucifix, causing Fallacy to hiss slightly. this is it... I'm going to die... Fallacy can't get near them... god knows if thorn can even fight, and the servants have no experience in battle or fighting.

"... Encre?" Fallacy said turning back to face me. I looked up with tears threatening to fall. "I might die saving you. I want you to raise the child even if I do indeed die." My eyes turned into water falls seeing him begin to go towards them slowly. "fallacy no! don't!" I shouted. The assassin sighed grabbing a dagger. but to my surprise, he didn't attack Fallacy. he winged around to stab someone else... to stab Thorn... from what I could see, Thorn had tried to sneak up behind them, but clearly failed. the assassin  harshly pulled his blade from Thorn's throat... I watched helplessly as she dusted. when Fallacy got close enough to the assassin, they simply turned around stabbing Fallacy in the shoulder and knocking him back far enough so he couldn't get in the way... I really am going to die tonight... I couldn't move... I was petrified... my head hanging low. "P- please..." I mumbled.

"please! H- have mercy! if you kill me you are k- killing a child as well! please! ... please have mercy..." I half-shouted going back to mumbling by the end. the assassin lifted my chin up placing the blade on my neck. "I'll make it qui-" they were cut off by fallacy grabbing them and throwing them off the balcony. Fallacy then fell beside me, hugging me tightly, blood soaking his clothes. I was still a mess of tears... I had just seen my best friend killed, my future husband stabbed and almost killed as well, and I could have lost my life and my baby. I tried to stand, so Ii could help fallacy, but my legs gave out and I lost consciousness.

Fallacy's P.O.V

I awoke to Encre's quiet sobbing. I had taken him to our room receiving medical attention while he was passed out. I shifted to hold him tightly, having only a bit of pain reside in my shoulder. "Encre." I whispered to him softly. "whats wrong?" he pushed himself closer against me. we were both facing the window, myself being behind him. "Th- Thorn... you..."

"I'm fine my love. it just stings a little."

"b- but Thorn... she's... she's gone... dead... Thorn was my best friend..." he started to cry once more. "I know she dead and I know you cared for her. when my wound was being treated I requested a servant to collect her dust for you." Encre continued to cry, hiding his face in a pillow. I sighed knowing right now, he just needed to let his tears out and there wasn't anything I could or should do to try and calm him down. right now, all I should be doing is shutting my mouth and holding him. it's my best option. I cuddled and held him for about an hour or so, before Encre finally started to calm down. "you done?" I asked softly. "yea... yea I think I'm done..." he said still sniffling. "thank you..."

"it's alright love, don't thank me. I was just doing what a good fiance should." He turned to look at me and smiled.

(a/n oof size: big af. so yea, thorn is dead. hope ya'll enjoyed."
