Fitz's POV

I have completely embarrassed myself.  I asked Sophie Foster, Sophie Elizabeth Foster, to walk to class with me.  How could she possibly like me?  A regular boy whose brother was part of a deathly organization.  I was lost in my thoughts until the golden-flecked eyed girl responded with, "Sure, why not?"

Did she just blush?  I really hope she likes me back.  Don't expect anything, Fitz.  I again snapped out of my thoughts and started to stroll down the hall with her.  There was a silence between us like we were just out of things to talk about.  I just stared at the wall, thinking about what my future would hold.  I suddenly got a wave of confidence, and I reached for her hands until of course, Sophie tripped.  Just as I caught her, she blushed and looked away quickly.  "Thanks," she mumbled blushing even more after I replied with a grin.

She was so cute, I could just imagine the feeling of her lips on mine.  But catching her was probably the favorite part of my day.  I could get a glimpse of her golden-brown eyes, and smell her sunshine blonde hair, which just happened to be in an intricate french braid today.

Approaching telepathy, I held the door open, and she walked in elegantly.  We were greeted by a joyful smile by our mentor and a member of the Black Swan, Sir Tiergan.  "Hello, how are you guys today?"

"Great!" We replied in Unison while Sophie once again blushed.  We took our seats in front of Sir Tiergan, and he started to speak.  " Today, I wanted to share some news with you both, that you might find very crucial to your success as cognates," he continued with a smile, " you guys can be the youngest cognates in our world, not to mention the strongest telepaths!"

I beamed, while Sophie internally celebrated, trying to find words to respond with.  She stole a glance at me, then just said thanks.  "But, you both must take a test which will determine if you are official cognates.  But, I have 200% faith in you since your bond is unbreakable, and your trust is extremely strong." he continued, while Sophie and I beamed. " Now, today or whenever soon to today, you must share the secret you both have been holding off on."

My smile dropped, and Sophie turned pale.  We both nervously glanced at each other and blushed.  Sir Tiergan must have sensed the tension, as he reassured us.  "Though I must say, the secret you both have is very, very similar.  The rest is now up to you to decide."

What do you think Sophie? I had slipped into her mind.

Look, I trust you with everything, but I am still not ready for this.  I am so, so sorry.

That's alright, neither am I. I was honestly a bit upset since I was dying to tell her that I liked her.  But if she didn't feel that way, I could ruin the cognate bond.

You tell me when you are ready, alright? Don't stress it.  Just know that I trust you.

Thanks, Fitz, I can't think of anyone who could understand me better.

I am pretty sure I blushed a little at that but without hesitation I transmitted, You are also the only person I trust.

At that, she blushed furiously and quickly looked away.  I got another surge of confidence and decided that I was going to do something big, something that would give away my secret, and something that may just convince Sophie to like me.

"Are you both okay?" Sir Tiergan started when we responded with, "Of course, why wouldn't we be?"

Then Sophie spoke up and told him about how we would tell each other our secret sometime later.  He frowned but declared it would be fine as long as we would confess before the big test.  Which was supposed to be held in a week.

Before Sophie and I could complain about how early the test was, he announced that we were free to leave, and had a couple 10 minutes before school ended. I was thrilled, and immediately took that time to start planning for my big confession.

"Thank you Sir Tiergan, I loved to have you as a mentor, and I'll miss you," I said while saying bye to him. "But I'll see you in other places, right?"

He winked, and before I dashed out the door, I said a quick, " Bye Soph, I'll see you in a few hours at graduation!"

And there I went, dashing through the hallways. I was going to tell Sophie I like her. No, I was going to tell her that I love her. And I was going to do that in front of the whole school, and their parents, and all the teachers. But I didn't care. All I cared about was the pretty blond girl with golden-flecked eyes and soft skin.

A/N Alright, 816 words.  And this is the second chapter in one day! *Squeals*  Shorter than the other, but I still hope you like it!  I wanted to politely request you guys to tell me if you like this story because if not I will stop writing.  Not to be rude, just to make sure my hard-work is going to be read.  And BTW, I am going to get to the Sophitz part, I promise.  Just wait.  Adios!
