A Sophitz Dream

Chapter 3

Sophie's POV

I was confused on how fast Fitz had walked out on me.  He just ran out, and then flashed his signature grin at me.  I was completely lost in my thoughts until I realized that Fitz Vacker, had called me Soph.  What did that even mean?  Confuzzled, I also walked out, saying " Thanks for everything Tiergan, I will see you at graduation!"

"Of course you will, good luck!"  And on that, I walked out of the class and to my locker.  I licked the DNA strip that tasted like mallowmelt, and I stuffed all my books in my bag, ready to start a life other than Foxfire.  Not that I didn't love it, seeing those dreamy teal eyes, and hearing that accented crisp voice, and smelling the cologne that Fitz always wears.  

I just wish I had the guts to admit that I like him. I thought to myself when a girly voice yelled from across the hallway, " SOOOOPHIEEEE!!!!!" Bi was running towards me excitedly, and then started rambling, "pleasetellmeyourememberabvnevbancequbvn."

"Bi, slow down!" I said through my laughing "I couldn't possibly hear a word you were saying!"

"Right, sorry!" she apologetically said.  " I just wanted to ask when you would be coming to my house for the big makeover!"

"Umm, I can come 10 minutes after school ends so I can say bye to Grady and Edaline," then I added, "See you in ten!"

Running out of Foxfire, I grabbed my home crystal and yelled, "Havenfield!"  Landing on the soft green grass, I heard a voice that sounded much like my adoptive father, then another which sounded like my mom.  I turned around and ran to hug them, although hesitated when I realized Grady was covered in Verdi spit and food.  He laughed, saying " What's the rush kiddo?"

"I need to go to Everglen!  Biana wants to work her magic on me." I said quoting the magic part.  

"Okay then, we will see you at graduation?" Edaline questioned.

"Yeah! Don't be late."

"Of course not!  My little baby is growing up already!" Edaline answered while leaning her head on Grady.

So, I ran out of there and got my gleaming crystal.  I held it up and watched it shine in the air while yelling, "Everglen!"

I appeared in front of the ginormous gates and stood there for not even 10 seconds until Biana came rushing out to open them.  "OMG!  I just found the best outfit for you to wear at the graduation!"  she said.  And then smirked, adding, "It's gonna impress Fitzy!"

I blushed so hard, and I said, " Bi! How do you know I even like him?" I was trying to keep a straight face when I started, "I could like someone else too ya know."

"Sure.  You and Fitz can be sooooooo oblivious." Biana retorted.

And with that, we ended the conversation before we got to a weird place.  I walked through Everglens enormous doors, just to see Fitz casually leaning against a wall writing something down.  " Hey, Fitz!"

He jumped, then when he realized it was me, he walked over and said hi.  We just stared at each other.  Or maybe it was me staring at him.  Whichever one it was, his eyes were so perfect.  I thought, Only if he knew that-

I got cut off by Fitz transmitting If I knew what?

I looked at him, probably making him wonder how red a person could get until I transmitted Oh, I wanted to say that only if you knew that...you...look........really good!

He got confused, looking down at his dirty old tunic and jeans.  But, he gave me his signature grin and transmitted back Thanks you look great too...as usual!
