Chapter 12

Fitz's POV

I looked at Sophie, and then back at Biana.  There had to be a catch.  They wouldn't make it that easy.  But, Sophie was beautiful as always, and I wasn't going to say that in front of Keefe and the boys.  "Umm, sure! Sophie, can you come in that room with me?" I pointed to the empty room down the hall.

I don't know if it was just my mind, but I saw her wickedly smile at the girls.  "Okay, but you have to transmit to me so Biana and the girls can hear."

"Why?" I questioned her.

"Well, it was my prank, so I say that me, Linh, and Marella can hear." Biana retorted and also added, "no holding back, okay?"

"Fine, I am so getting you back for this." I gritted my teeth and took Sophie into the room.

I opened the door, walking into my dad's office which was filled with papers.  But that was the only place I could go at the moment.  "So, I'll start transmitting to now."

"Wait up!  This isn't my outfit!"  I raised my eyebrow trying to get more information out of her.

"What do y-"  I didn't even finish my sentence before she took off her dress leaving her in a bikini.

Okay, now tell me so you can get this over with

How could she say that so easily when she was half exposed?

I heard a bunch of squeals in the other room.  Oh my gosh, I'd forgotten Sophie was telling them too.  I covered my face with my hands and ran out of the room.

"wait, Fitz!" Sophie grabbed my hand.  I turned around trying to act angry, but she was just so beautiful.

"What Sophie."

"Look, I know you're mad, but..." she started to smile, "ITS A PRANK!"

I thought I heard her wrong and I just needed to repeat it to help my brain understand, "it's a prank?"

She laughed and said, "Yeah, you didn't think this was serious."

"Were you in on this?"  She nodded her head, "Sophie, why are you so... freaking cute?"

I pulled her towards me and gave her a peck on the lips.  She quickly put her red dress on and took my hand.  

"What was that?" Dex, Tam, and Keefe asked in unison.

Sophie and I laughed sitting down and ignored the question.  After a few more boring games of truth and dare, I finally had an idea.  If Sophie wanted to play pranks, so could I.

I was going to play the meanest, the worst, and the most horrifying prank.  A prank that would kill her inside.  But then, I would need a gift for her after that.  Just to show that I still liked her.

I ran out, earning questioning faces from everybody.  But I managed to yell back, "I forgot to do something!  I'll be back in an hour!"

They shrugged.

I took my leaping crystal and yelled, "Havenfield!"

I ran up to the door and frantically knocked, I may have scared Edaline, because she ran up to the door, but then calmed down once she realized it was me.

"Hello Fitz, is everything okay?"

"Um, yeah.  I just had to ask you and Grady something."

"Sure, come on in."

I walked in and Grady welcomed me.  "So, what brings you here Fitz?"

I gathered up all my courage, all my love for Sophie, and told him, "As you know sir, Sophie and I like each other and I wanted to a-ask h-her out?"

His eyes widened, and I added, "If you agree of course...sir."

"Okay, Fitz.  First, don't call me sir." he grinned.  I smiled back and he continued, "And second, I just want to say that I like that you came to me for permission to date my daughter."

I shrugged, still waiting for an answer, "I am going to say yes, on the condition that..."

He waited for me to finish the sentence.  "Oh um, that I take it slow with her and keep her safe sir, I mean Grady."  He smiled and said, "Well?  How are you going to ask her out?"

"Well, she likes some tricks Linh does with water, so maybe we can have Linh create words with the water?"

Grady nodded, "You are thoughtful, aren't you.  I think that's a pretty great idea."

I smiled, "Well, I better get going then."

"Bye!" Grady and Edaline said in unison.  

"Thanks for thinking of us Fitz, you are perfect for Sophie," Edaline yelled as I pulled out my leaping crystal and leaped away.

Today, I was going to ask Sophie Foster out, and I was going to win over her heart,  I thought grinning to myself.
