This could lead into something good and even possibly developing a much-needed friendship or ruin and make every interaction in the future plain awkward. You just missed having someone to talk to, someone who was interested in other things aside from how well you did your job that day as well. But maybe the life here was like that and you would just need to get used to this. If everyone here was able to do it so were you. And besides that, what went on when people weren't working? It could be anything. You had a bad habit of overthinking and overanalyzing things. Soon arriving to the quarters, you would call home from now on. What you saw when walking in wasn't something you had expected to see ever, it was Kylo Ren looking quite relaxed on the couch. This was nothing you minded; this was much better indeed. He looked more approachable and much less imitating. "Well hi." You broke the silence by greeting him. He answered to your greeting a bit awkwardly, had the not expected you to come back at some point? You laughed a little and walked a bit closer. "You forgot that I was coming? And you should not worry about looking relaxed at your own space, Kylo." You told him. "I'm not used to anyone seeing me like this." He told you. You then said: "I think you should..." Unless walking around with mask and work clothes sounded appealing to him.
Kylo quickly changed the topic to your job by asking: "How did the first day of your new job go?" Probably trying to make sure that you weren't in trouble or anything like that. "I would say quite well for a first day. I don't want to sound like I'm complaining but I miss my job being more mission type and not just staying in one place." You then answered. And soon after that asked. "And how did your job or whatever you were doing go?" He looked kind of surprised that you asked about his day. "Nothing too interesting really." One thing that was clear to you was that he wasn't used to having conversations other than finding out information, someone else's work or ordering people around. That was one thing you would try to help him with. To you Kylo seemed to have much more than what he chose to show on the outside. What was he hiding and why? "Don't get mad at me but you don't seem to be very good at social situations." You said. This was a risk to take because he could react in many ways by either brushing it off, getting mad and destroying things or what you would prefer just to answer. But you were ready to take the risk if that could help him. It was weird feeling because you no longer were able to hate him but rather felt sympathy for him and in a way, you saw some light inside of him. But how was this even possible? "I understand if you don't want to talk about it." You said taking few steps closer once again.
"I'm not used to talking to anyone if it's not about work. Because I don't need anyone." He said but you shook your head in disagreement and then said: "Everyone needs someone sometimes. It's not weakness." Asking for help is not weakness, it's the opposite it shows that you aren't afraid to admit if you can't do something on your own. Asking for help is not always easy, you thought. "I can survive on my own. I have done it before and will continue to do so. I can take care of my own problems, all of them." Kylo tried to assure you. Something made you feel like this wasn't the truth at all. "We both know you aren't telling the truth even if you don't want to admit it. Kylo... I can't force you to talk to me if you don't want to. But I just want you to know that if you ever want to open up just know that I'm listening. Always." You said. You had gotten so close that you were practically standing in front of him staring at him. The two of you were no longer enemies but you two weren't friends or near that either. But now that you two were living together it would be better to get to know each other better. "I don't like admitting that I'm wrong but now I am wrong. I don't know what it's like to have people around me who aren't working and most certainly those who to talk to." He said. There was so much more to him than what he was showing on the outside even in the comfort of his own home. Giving him a little smile, you told him: "We can change that but only if you let me in. I'm not going to hurt you if that's what you are afraid of. And we can take all the time you need." You said. There was no need to rush things, it would be no help for anyone and would only cause unnecessary stress. Talking about personal feelings before being ready was not a good idea even more when someone is pressuring you to do so. Even if it would take months for him to feel comfortable enough talking about the smallest things that was okay. Worst thing that you could do to him was no longer anything physical it was more mental. Turning the things, he might tell you against him would make you truly an awful person. And that was something you did not want to happen to you, losing yourself and changing too much in a negative way. He quietly nodded. "What would you think about us starting to have this little moment every night where we can talk about anything and everything?" You suggested. It would be more casual approach to this situation and gentler approach as well. Mixture of casual and possibly fun things with some serious talk would probably be the best possible option. "Sounds fine. Thank you, Y/N." He said. And added something about your job being more than just looking after things tomorrow. It could be anything, but you wanted to keep it as a surprise. "Good night." You said and started to make your way back to your room.
