"It doesn't matter how far you run, the past will always catch up with you."
Texas had long since left the days of gang life behind her. She has become a high ranking member of Penguin Logistics and now a Rhodes Island Vanguard Operator. She still d...
Texas was still yawning as she walked onto the helicopter. There were two separate carriers taking the group over to whatever destination the Doctor has in mind. Beside her, Exusiai was busy drinking her coffee. The cream at the top was smearing around her lips like a milk mustache would. Wordlessly, she handed the angel a napkin. They'd brought a small stack of them just for the occasion. Whenever the Doctor woke up this early it was almost a guarantee it would be a long day.
"So does anyone know where we're headed?" She asked.
The pilot gave no answer, likely not hearing her because of the headset he wore. "We're going to a place with a lot of pitfalls. It's going to be so much fun!" Cliffheart twirled her rope expertly in her hand.
"Shawisreadyforduty!DirectmetothefireandIwillputitout!" Shaw reported seriously. Texas would never tell the squirrel, but she never understood her when she spoke that fast. FEater seemed to be used to the hyperactive speaking and just nodded along.
"Well hopefully there is no fire Shaw," Cliffheart said. "Otherwise the rest of us are unprepared."
Shaw dipped her head. "ThenIwilljusthavetoprotectyouall."
Texas shot Exusiai a look to see if she was understanding any of what Shaw was saying. Exusiai shrugged before resuming to sip down her drink. "Okay then, we'll have to take your word for it I suppose."
But Texas never got to ask. Doctor Y/N's voice filtered in through the intercom loud and clear. "Texas prepare for deploy, we've arrived."

(This is a screenshot from my account . . . couldn't resist using Schwarz after pulling her last week on a single pull)
She dove from the helicopter with her usual grace, striking the ground gently upon landing thanks to her parachute. Texas gauged her surroundings, finding the pitfalls right away. With so many of them it's no wonder Doctor brought all those Specialists. Exusaia landed up on one of the raised rock platforms right beside her, the swishing grass effectively concealing her friend from most ranged assault. From across the way, she saw Cliffheart touching down next. Her hiking gear seemed appropriate for an area with so many cliffs.
"I think I see someone coming." She squinted against the blustery sand as a figure trudged out into open. No, make that two. The first was swarmed by some form of cloaking technology, but the other she could see as clear as day.
