It was officially morning and Billy woke up with no one in his bed and he was confused how she got out without him noticing, but even more worried that she had left completely. He got up a stretched out his arms and then headed out of his bedroom into the kitchen. He saw her standing out on the balcony looking out into the city. It was then when he stopped worrying and returned to his routine and grabbed some coffee.
He walked out to join Julia at the balcony with his coffee and another one for her in his hands. Standing extremely silent right behind her, she didn't even know that he was there. It wasn't until Billy started talking that she knew he was out there with her. "Do you like view?" Julia jumped from shock by the sound of his voice, and she turned around.
"Yes, it's beautiful. A view this nice must've cost an organ."
"Oh, did I forget to mention that I only have one lung?" Julia's eyes widened because she thought he was serious. "I'm just messing with you. Surely you know that's just what I do."
"Ha ha very funny." She faked laugh at him.
"When did you get out of bed?" he changed the subject.
"Umm maybe half an hour ago, why?"
"Just curious as to why I didn't wake up. I'm a pretty light sleeper."
"Well I guess I must be super sneaky then." She smiled.
"Hmm I'll need to set a booby trap, so I'll know when you're trying to escape."
"What gave you the impression that I'm sleeping over again?"
"Oh, I'm sorry. I don't know, I guess it was just my hope." He said quietly and sipped his coffee. "And the fact that you were wrapped around me the whole night."
"We'll see." She patted his shoulder and walked back inside. Billy didn't know whether that was good or bad, but he was willing to make it work in his favor. He followed her back inside. "You're like a puppy."
"Excuse me?"
"You follow me everywhere. Next thing I know, you'll be drooling over me."
"If we're being honest, I started drooling a long time ago, but that's beside the point." He responded behind his mug.
"What?" She knew exactly what he said, but she was more surprised than anything.
"You seriously don't think I'm attracted to you in the least bit?" He said, but she just stood there silently. "I ask you on dates, I want to help you discover who you are, I let you sleep in my bed. I don't just do that for anyone. You're different."
"What is it that makes me different?"
"You're kidding me, right?" Once again, she replied with silence. "See I would think that if you have no recollection of your life that you'd be different than everyone else, but I guess that's just me. But putting that aside, you are generally mysterious, not only to me, but yourself as well, and I like that. Predictable women are not as fun. You also happen to be different than 90% of the New York population because you don't always talk , you talk when you have something worth saying. You may not know who you are, but I'm sure that those things have been a trait of yours forever no matter the circumstances. I like you Julia."
"Okay well what if we miraculously figure out just who I am and then you don't like me anymore. Then what?"
"So, you are interested in me." He smirked.
"I definitely did not say that."
"Oh, so you're not into me whatsoever?"
"I didn't say that either."
"Ah-ha!" He cheered.
"Billy! I'm serious."
"Worry more if it comes to that point." He finished his coffee and put his mug in the sink. "Excuse me, I'm going to take a shower." He headed down the hallway, but then stopped and peeped his head into the kitchen. "You're more than welcome to join me." He winked at her then continued his route. Julia blew his offer off and made herself toast for breakfast.
Billy got out of the shower and dressed himself in jeans and a simple white t shirt and walked back out into the main room and Julia wasn't there. He checked the bedroom for her, but still had no luck. When he went back into the kitchen, he noticed that she left a note on the counter that said, "Take care, until we cross paths again, Julia." After reading that Billy was pretty upset that she had left and he could've prevented it. His first response was to pick up his phone and call her, but he doesn't have her number because she doesn't have a phone. He then called Cole instead. "Hello?" Cole answered quickly.
"I'm on my way over. I need to talk to you." He said panicky while rushing out his door.
When Billy arrived at Cole's place he just barged right in and started talking right away. "Cole she's gone."
"What do you mean she's gone?"
"We went out, she slept over, she woke up, I showered, and she disappeared."
"Disappeared meaning?"
"Cole, seriously? She just left! What else could it have been?"
"Whether you want to believe it or not, she's being searched for, she could've disappeared that way."
"Why won't you tell me what she did? Why is she so bad?"
"I can't say. I just can't talk about it."
"Cole, don't you think she deserves to know? She's beating herself up about not knowing." Billy slammed his fist on the table.
"You have no idea how important it is that she needs to know, but you can't be the one to tell her. What's with you anyways?" He paused. "You didn't sleep with her, did you?"
"No. I just think that this whole thing is dumb. You force me to put her in my life, not telling me what bad thing she did and yeah maybe I like her a little bit, she has done nothing but be amazing.""You can't like her."
"Why not? She's a great girl."
"You're going to have to trust me. One day you'll know who she really is and it's going to tear you apart."
"If you can't tell me what she did, then I can't help but to do what my heart tells me."
"Your heart tells you? I didn't know you turned into a bitch." Cole sneered at him.
"Go to Hell." He said as he was heading back towards the door."Where are you going?"
"I'm going to find her." He answered, "and I'm done with your little games, I want her." and finished his response by slamming Cole's door.
