It was later at night and she had met Thomas at a restaurant for their dinner "date". It was very awkward at first because he had mentioned being there an hour early. "What is with men showing up to dates so early?" she whispered to herself before sitting down in front of Thomas.
"Well hello there gorgeous." He greeted her. To greet him back she just smiled. "So, where've you been?""Everywhere I suppose."
"Where was my invite."
"Sorry, I didn't know you wanted to tag along."
"Why wouldn't your boyfriend want to join you on your trip everywhere?"
"Boyfriend?" She said confused, and accidentally aloud.
"I forget, sorry. I just think you breaking up with me was a fluke accident. I still consider myself your boyfriend." Julia was really creeped out by it all now. She had no idea. She probably broke up with him given how strange he is. Julia started looking around the room to see if anyone near could hear what Thomas was saying. No one was looking. It made her feel super unsafe.
"Thomas, you know why I broke up with you right?" She asked, not to see if he knew, but trying to refresh her own memory.
"We are not broken up Caden, I refuse." Julia was even more uncomfortable than before. She looked around the room one more time and still no one was looking. Although, outside through the window she did see a familiar face. Billy's face. It was perfect timing, he found eye contact with her and he paused. Then Thomas grabbed Julia's hand, and it brought her into another memory. A memory of Thomas, a possible reason of why she resulted in breaking up with him. In her flashback she saw him grabbing her hand to pull her in to him closer to hit her. Not just one memory of him abusing her, but endless memories of it. There were tears forming in her eyes while she was still in the unconscious state, and then she came back. She tried to jerk her hand away from his, but his grip was too tight, and he wouldn't let go. Julia started to kick him from underneath the table. "Darling what are you doing?"
"Let me go!" she yelled, and then heads were finally turning towards her, but no one did anything, no one even budged out of their seats. Out of nowhere Billy came and punched Thomas right in his face which made him let go of Julia's hand.
"Are you alright?" He knelt in front of her and looked her in the eyes.
"I just need to get out of here." She said with tears rolling down her face. He helped her up and exited the restaurant with her in his arms.
They got into a car which had to have been Billy's and he drove a couple minutes away from the area and pulled over into a little deserted place. He then put the car in park and sat there looking straight ahead of him thinking what to even start with. He turned over to her and gently reached for her arm. "Can I see?" He asked. She put her arm in his hand and he turned his car light on to see that it was a little red around but not too bad. "Does it hurt?" she shook her head. "Well now that I know you're okay, what are you doing? I tell you how I feel and the next day you're out on a date with some other guy? If you didn't like me, you could've just told me, I can handle more than you think." He said vulnerably.
"It's not like that Billy, I left because I don't want to waste your time, and it wasn't really a date. I ran into him and he knew me. So, I thought that maybe he could help me find myself."
"I'm going to help you! You're not wasting my time." Julia just looked down. Then Billy pulled her face back up lightly to look at her. "I'm sorry for getting upset. I just care about you. I want you in my life."
"Thank you. I'm sorry for running out, I was just scared. I've just been having a hard time coping with everything. My flashbacks are horrible and it's just hard living my days not knowing who I am." Billy pulled her into his chest and hushed her to get her to calm down a little bit.
