Eight

Nicole POV

I was laying in my bed after showering from our first practice. I was just laying listening to music when I felt the bed dip next me.

I looked over to see Mal, I guess Rose let her in.

She pulled a head phone out of my ear which caused me to give her a questionable look.

"Dawn wants to see you"

"Did she say what for?" I asked confused

"Nope, just told me to go get you and make sure you actually go" which caused me to starting laughing

"She already knows me well" I said standing up, which caused Mal to also stand up.

"You hate anything medical related don't you?" Mal said and I just nodded with a smile

With that we walked to Dawns room, making small talk along the way.

"I'll see you later" I said to Mal as we made it to Dawn's door. She went to walk away but stopped and turned around and knocked on the door.

I just looked at her, "I have a feeling you would walk away if I don't wait for Dawn to open the door"

"I'm hurt you would think that" I said faking being offended while she just rolled her eyes as Dawn opened the door

"Thank you Mallory" Dawn said giving her a smile

"No problem" she said as she walked away

"Come on in" Dawn said moving out the way of the door to allow me

"So you wanted to see?" I said taking a seat on the couch in her room and she sat at her desk.

"Yes, I got a hold of you medical records and I have a few question that I don't think you will answer" to which I just nodded

"So I'll just state, if any thing starts hurting or feels off, please come see so it would get worse" to which I just nodded again

I didn't really have anything to say, I mean these files show all the document injuries I've gotten from abused over the year.

"Now that is out of the way, you are missing 3 shots" which caused me to look at her confused

"Missing?"

"Yes, you never got them. I actually don't know how you go to school or play club without getting them. I have them here with me so I'm going to give them to you now"

"Nope" I said jumping up and heading to the door, which must have surprised her because it took her a second to respond

"If you don't get these shot, you can play for the team"  which caused me to stop in place and turn around and look at her

A look of realization crossed her face "Your scared of shots" to which I just nodded with embarrassment

"Well I'm not going to lie to you, after looking at your injuries, I didn't think you would be afraid of a shot. We can call someone in to hold you hand if you want"

"No, I will be fine" I said walking back and talking a seat again on the couch

Dawn started getting everything set up on the desk while I watched quietly.

My leg started shaking as she started to put on the gloves.

She whipped down my arm with a alcohol whip before picking up the first shot. As she brought the shot closer to my arm, I jumped up and way from Dawn who looked at me with a look that says you got to be kidding me

"Are you sure I need these shots? I mean, I've been fine without them"

"Yes" she said taking off her gloves and pulling out her phone and call someone.

"Hey, I need your help with Nicole. Can you come to my room?" I heard her say before hanging up.

"Who'd you go call?" I asked as someone knocked on the door.

I watched Dawn go answer the door and come back, followed by Kelley and Alex.

"So why are we here?" Kelley asked looking over at me while a gave a guilty smile

"Turns our she is afraid of getting shots" Dawn said which caused Alex to look at me with surprise and Kelley to start laughing

"Your serious, the girl who can take a ball straight the face and continue like it's nothing is afraid of shots" Kelley said looking at me

"Shut up" I said glaring at Kelley who kept laughing until Alex walked over and smacked her head

"Ow" Kelley said rubbing the back of her head

"Can you guys just make sure she stays seated while I give her the shots" Dawn said putting a new pair of gloves on and picking up a shot.

"What happens if she doesn't get these shots?" Alex said looking at Dawn

"She can't play" Dawn said

"Your get these shots" Alex said coming up behind me grabbing me by my waist and pulling me into her lap on the couch.

Dawn picked up the shot and I started to try and move away but Alex tighten her grip on my waist to prevent me from getting up.

"I really don't like you guys" I said I squeezed my eyes shut as I felt the first needle go into my arm

"You don't mean that" Kelley said laughing next me which caused me turn and glare at her again

That when I felt the second shot causing me tense up.

"You only have one more" Alex said softly from behind me

I just shut my eyes so I wouldn't know when Dawn was doing the last one in my other arm.

When it was over I opened my eyes up to see Dawn grabbing band aid and putting them on my arms.

"In a couple of months you are going to need the get the second round for two of those shots" Dawn said as shut the door behind me causing my eyes to go wide.

"Nope, not gonna do it" I said heading towards my room

"Yes, you are" Alex said wrapping an arm around my shoulder while I just shake my head.

"What is it going to take to get you to get them" Alex asked

I thought for a minute before I said "a box of chocolate peanut butter Cheerios"

"Of all things, that is what you ask for" Kelley said in disbelief

I just nod my head "that is what I want and I won't share with you" which caused her to stick her tongue out at me and I to return the favor

"Come on children, let's go to Walmart" Alex said laughing
