"Thank you all for coming and I'm extremely honoured by everybody. Wow, its been 5 years in the industry already. Today is a joyous day and I intend to celebrate."

"Mr Robinson! Over here!", a woman in red holding a microphone shouted. "I'm a reporter for Channel Two News. What do you owe your success today to?"

Smiling, six words left my lips.

"Well, I owe it to her"

10 YEARS AGO:

*pant* *pant*

"Slow down Jim!"

"If you don't catch up it ain't my fault."

What a mess. Where are my manners? The name's Tyler. Tyler Robinson, but you can call me Ty if you want. My slightly shorter friend running ahead of me is my neighbour, Jim. He's more athletic than me but he's a dumbass. Look, I'm a good guy and I'm always punctual for school but it had to be today of all days that I overslept.

"It's not my fault you overslept!' Jim yelled.

"Yo! You did too!" I protested.

"I know. Difference between us is that I'll make it to school first! Later scrub!" Jim laughed as he took off.

What an ass, am I right? I'm never going to school with that guy ever again. It had to be the first day of the second semester where I oversleep. But at my pace, I should reach just on time.

"I see land!" I screamed gleefully as I see my school in the distance.

"GET OUT OF THE WAY!!!" screamed what seemed to be a girl's voice.

I turned around to see a girl wearing my school attire on a bike at a speed of questionable legality. Sidestepping, I dodged her missile of a bike.

*BOOM*

She crashed straight into the wall a couple of metres away from me.

Well, that looked like it hurt. I should probably hurry and ignore her, I might be ~

"Hey, you! My brakes stopped working. Could you help me? I think I scraped my knee, could you give me a hand?"

I desperately looked around hoping she was talking to someone else but I realised she was speaking to nobody but me.

I hate moments like this. What should I do? I think I'm gonna pretend like I heard nothing. Yea, I'll just pretend I'm deaf and run along.

"I could really use some help please!" She said with a slight hint of tears from her voice.

Oh god. Why do you have to test my morals right now, big guy?

*sigh*

Well, there goes my perfect attendance.

I walked towards her, not knowing those steps would change my life forever.
