10 YEARS AGO:
As I sprinted down the hallways, I bumped into the shoulders of nearly everyone I saw. The adrenaline coursing through my veins was unreal. As my heart thumped loudly in my ears, I felt a thin layer of sweat covering the nape of my neck. Taking my breath in short gasps, I pushed harder and went faster.
Why didn't I train harder in running?
Ignoring the stares and rude remarks directed at me, I burst out of the school. As I looked at my watch, it was 5:25 pm. There were five minutes to the start of the competition.
COME ON LEGS!!!
Beads of sweat flew off me as I sprinted into the sunset.
Mind over matter, right? I'll get there even if it kills me.
As I turned the corner, I reached the nearby playground.
Great, just a little mor-
Before I could finish my train of thought, I had slipped over a puddle and fell forward.
"Ouch..." I winced.
A small figure approached me and asked
"You okay?"
"You!" I shouted in shock. "You're the kid Chrissy hangs out with!"
"Hey! My name is Benny!" He exclaimed.
As I tried to get up, I felt a sharp pain on my right leg. Blood was oozing out at an alarming rate.
NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!
Benny calmly walked over and examined the wound.
"Looks painful." He said.
"NO SHIT KID!" I bellowed as I grabbed my leg in pure agony.
Benny calmly grabbed a nearby bottle of water and doused it on my leg.
Screaming at the top of my lungs, I yelled in complete anger
"WHAT THE HELL!"
Benny calmly said
"I'm just helping you just like how you and the nice lady helped me."
Pausing to think, I realised that Chrissy, Benny and I all fell and got hurt at one point of time.
As I sighed, I suddenly burst into screams again as he poured even more water on my wound.
Benny looked at me in complete disappointment and monotoned
