Its time

ELIZABETH POV

I found myself sitting alone in the tavern. It was 10 o'clock and I couldn't sleep, obviously not wanting to worry Meliodas any further I decided to sneak down here. Every now and then I would experience extreme pain in my abdomen. Was I in labour?

Another contraction hit me, I gasped for air and tightening my grip on the table I was sitting at. Sweat started to form on my brow as I grit my teeth.

Suddenly I heard creaking as someone began coming down the stairs. The footsteps became more impatient as they got closer to me, darkness hiding their features.
'Crap, its Meliodas'
"Elizabeth?" His voice was at a whisper, but still concerned, as always.
I didn't respond, I couldn't. The pain was too much, I was so glad he couldn't see my face right now.
"I got worried when you weren't in bed, are you okay?"
"..." All that came out of my mouth was a very loud and very painful gasp.
I place my head on the table, tears threatening to fall.
Meliodas stands there, completely frozen, shock taking a hold of his body. It was time, and they both knew it.

MELIODAS POV

I couldn't believe it, I was going to be a father, it excited and scared me at the same time.
Thinking fast, I rush over to the counter, frantically rummaging through the messy draws that reside beneath the bench top. I finally found what I was looking for, a candle. After lighting it, I rush back to Elizabeth.

I carefully placed the burning candle on the table.
I was heart broken when I saw her pain stricken face, tears now flowing freely down her beautiful porcelain cheeks.
I wipe away a stray tear with my thumb, she was in so much pain, if I could take it all away, I would.
"Elizabeth, I'm going to get Merlin, then we'll take you upstairs." She nodded slowly.

Taking that as an okay, I quickly disappeared up the stairs, I need to wake up Merlin.....
