Coming for you

After the, ah, little incident with the shadowfire, Chaos led me to his palace.

You heard me right. A freaking palace.

It was set in the middle of the city, and made of some black substance that looked oddly similar to Stygian Iron, but it was carved with intricate designs.

Then he sat me down and explained a little bit about what had just happened. About how I was shadowfire user. And about the fact that I was now his 'heir'.

Not like he was my father, or anything. That would just be weird.

But if Chaos ever did one day fade, then I would take his place.

That freaked me out, but Chaos had assured me that he didn't plan on fading anytime soon.

Now we were sitting, facing each other, in twin black armchairs.

I took a shaky breath.

"Alright. So what about my wish? We have to get her out. Preferably before she is judged." I said hopefully.

Chaos nodded.

"Yes, yes. Go to the Underworld. Fins her, and then summon me. I can take it from there." He said.

"Should I shadow-travel there?" I asked uncertainly.

"Well, I suppose you could. But I recommend portaling there. Easier, less draining. In fact, portaling takes almost no effort whatsoever." Chaos remarked thoughtfully.

"I don't know how to portal." I said simply.

"Oh, its quite simple. Picture a black door. Now, open that door. Where you want to portal is on the other side of that door. Try it now. Be as specific as possible." Chaos encouraged.

I felt stupid, but I did.

When I opened my eyes there was a swirling black portal hovering in front of me.

"Good! Very good! But one more thing. You can reveal your identity to her, but not to anyone else. So, you must wear this." Chaos said and produced a simple black cloak from thin air.

I took it from him.

It was a simple black cloak that was floor length, and it had a hood that would easily hide my face. It had a single button made of the same material as the palace walls were, and the button was set just under the nape of my neck.

I slipped it on and flexed my wings uncertainly. To my surprise, there were two slits running the perfect length of my wings.

Oh, if the camps could see me now.

To top it all off, where the cloak was cinched at the waist with a simple black chain, my Stygian Iron sword hung from its black leather scabbard.

I drew the hood up and was about to step through the portal when Chaos said, "Take this too. For her. It'll be easier to slip her out."

He was holding another cloak exactly the same as mine was.

I took it with a mumbled, "Thanks."

I took a deep breath.

I'm coming for you, Reyna. I'm coming.

Then I stepped through the portal into the inky blackness.
