Hey guys!
I decided to make up Ian's friends names because I couldn't find them online, lol.
I'll also start to be adding music that inspires me to write these stories and what I imagine to be playing during some of these scenes, so I highly recommend them!
Enjoy!

IAN's POV
"No way... you talked to (y/n)?!!" Regina bleated, the satyr's eyes lighting up as she spoke. "Way to go Ian!!"
"Yeah, Ian, even I wouldn't be able to talk to her," Ari leaned toward me to whisper; "and you KNOW how much I would like to" she finished with a wink.
"Way to go little man," Carlos took his hand off his crutch to hold it up for a fist bump, which I accepted.
"Crazy, right? If this were a thought a month ago I would've laughed in my own face," I said proudly before taking a bite of my lunch.
"So what are you gonna do now?" Leif asked, and everyone looked my way.
"W-what do you mean?" I asked with a cocked eyebrow.
"Well... you talked to (y/n); any plans on what you're gonna do now? Like, date wise?" Ari asked, pointing her fork in my direction.
I froze.
Nope.
"W-well I mean I suggested maybe coffee or s-soda or something, maybe she wants to go do that? Oh no."
"Soda.." Carlos turned to Leif, who shrugged.
"Oh gosh she probably doesn't want to do that. What was I thinking?!" I began to panic.
"Relax, Lightfoot. I'm sure you'll figure something out," Ari patted my back before looking behind me. "Or I will. Hey, (y/n)!"
My heart stopped when I turned to see (y/n) standing by the plastic utensil dispenser, her head just turned to see me and my friends at our usual table.
I'm so getting Ari back for this.

YOUR POV
My head was in such a funk after I talked to Ian today. Not in a bad way, of course, but in a butterflies in your stomach kind of way. But if the butterflies were in my head.
Like that makes sense.
So much so that I had come into lunch 10 minutes late, just barely getting enough time to grab my food and utensils, when I heard my name across the room.
I looked over and saw Ari Harmonia from my 3rd period history waving at me at her table with her friends and none other than Ian Lightfoot.
What a boy.
I've known him since we were elflings in school, and I've always thought he was just adorable. His fluffy curls always made me swoon more than I should have, and his awkward speech was just fine to me.
But when he fought that dragon, I gained much more respect for the boy. He definitely had some strength and courage that none of us saw before, and I had been meaning to tell him that it was incredible, but I hadn't gotten the chance to until today.
"Hey, Ari!" I waved back.
"Come sit with us today! Ian has an empty spot next to him!" Ari said. She looked down and realized that she was sitting in it, then immediately shuffled to the next seat over. "Yeah, empty spot right here!"
I giggled and waltzed over, setting my tray down gently before plopping down in the seat next to the two elves. I said hi to everyone there before turning to the boy. His eyes were burning into his lunch tray, and his cheeks were a bright pink.
How much I wanted to just hug him right now caused an insane amount of restraint on my behalf.
"Hey, Ian," I said softly, causing him to look up and into my eyes. He relaxed a little before smiling.
"Hey, (y/n)."
"Soooo are you guys going on that art field trip to the enchanted forest? It's supposed to be insane!" Regina, the Satyr from across the table spoke up.
"Yeah! I'm so excited! I love nature hikes," I exclaimed, and everyone seemed impressed.
It's always been hard to get used to the amount of people that think I'm not as artsy a person as I really am. Yeah, I have a lot of people crowding me each day, but that doesn't mean they're all my friends. They want to be seen with a nicer person to get their rep up. I just happen to be that person.
"That's great! With your awesome style I'd expect nothing less," Ian said with a shy smile, and I looked over, blinking.
He seemed to get me.
Maybe this could be good.
The bell rang, and the entire cafeteria rose like a sermon.
"Hey Ian, we'll see you after school!" Carlos nodded at his blue-haired friend and walked off as the rest of the group said their goodbyes. I think I even saw Leif wink at him?
I looked over at Ian and thought now was a better time than ever.
"Wanna walk to 6th with me?"
Ian's eyes froze and he looked over. "Si-sixth period? With you? G-great! S-sounds awesome!!" He fumbled, which I couldn't help but giggle at.
And we left the café, and everything seemed much better.
