YOUR POV
I was tired.
I could barely remember anything, and my head was pounding.
But I had him by my side.
Without him, I'd be dead. I'd be gone.
The world would've been destroyed.
He wasn't only my hero, he was the world's.
I sat in the back of the van next to Ian, a blanket draped over my shoulders. He held me close so I was comfortable. It was pitch black outside. We were about halfway home, and as much as I loved this adventure I couldn't wait to get home.
"How are you feeling?" He would ask almost every hour. I would reply "better" each time.
Around 2 hours from home Barley cleared him throat.
"How do you guys feel about a detour?"
Ian looked down at me. "You feel up for one last adventure?"
I nodded immediately. "Let's do it."

Barley scratched his chin and stared at the fence's sign.
Closed for the season
We had stopped at a placed called Dewberry National Park. I could hear a waterfall nearby.
"Come on, Barley, I don't think we can get in."
Ian had turned around, but Barley and I stayed put.
If there's a will there's a way.
I threw the blanket off my shoulders and grabbed hold of the fence holes, sticking in my foot in the opening.
"Yeaaah, way to go, (y/n)!" Barley wooped, and Ian whipped around as I climbed up.
"Holy shit (y/n)!" He shouted, and my leg swung around to the other side of the fence. "Shouldn't you be resting your muscles?"
"Yeah, but they don't ache of pain," I replied with a smirk, dropping down from the fence and facing him on the other side. "They ache for adventure."
He raised an eyebrow, unimpressed, as Barley plopped down next to me.
"That wasn't safe, (y/n)." Ian linked his fingers through the fence holes, and I sighed. "You could've hurt yourself."
"Ian I know but-"
"Besides," he kept going. "You could've just asked for help." He returned my smirk, then walked to the van. I was confused until I saw him pull out his staff.
I rolled my eyes playfully as he chanted bridgrigar invisia, soon stepping over the fence and landing next to me, snaking his arm around my waist.
"Show off," I smirked and walked with him toward the sound of rushing water.
We walked for a few minutes until a waterfall came into view. I almost gasped at the sight. It was absolutely stunning.
It was dark, though. I don't know how we would be able to see it without any light.
Unless...
"Can I see that?" I looked over at Ian, pointing to his staff. He swiftly handed it over, and I gripped it with a firm hand.
I took a deep breath and thought to myself how I could make the falls more visible.
"Lumina precipitous!"
A shot in the dark and a puff in the sky caused a sudden rain of sparkling light to illuminate the waterfall.
It was...
"Beautiful.." Ian whispered next to me, and I turned to look into his amazed eyes. "Did you think of that yourself?"
"Maybe..." I shrugged, then handed him his staff back.
He chuckled and kissed my cheek, and Barley held his hands out, catching the sparks before they disappeared.
I took the younger brother's hand and led him to a dance in the sparks.
"Bridgrigar invisia!" Ian chanted, and all of a sudden we were dancing on water. Above it, more or less.
I couldn't have asked for anything better to end my night.5 years later
"(Y/n)!"
I turned to see none other than Ian himself. On his face sat some circular frames and he wore his famous red flannel, his dad's Willowdale sweater underneath.
He ran up and cupped my cheek, bringing me into a sweet kiss. My nose poked the glass on his frames.
"You look like such a dork with those on."
"You know it. Your dork." Ian smirked and took my hand.
"Where you headed?" I asked, continuing my walk toward campus center.
"I've got something planned," he replied, then brought my hand to his lips. "I'll catch you at our date later?"
"Wouldn't miss it for the world."
"Alright, love you, (y/n)." He kissed me once again before jogging off toward his dorm.Once I had made it through a full day of classes, all I wanted to do was crash into bed next to my man. But we had a whole date to go through before that could happen.
I trudged my way up the stairs toward Ian's dorm. As tired as I was I couldn't wait to see him.
I knocked on the door, and almost immediately it opened. Weird, but it was a date after all.
I walked in to see a small table covered in a white sheet. A little tea candle sat in the middle, along with a bouquet of (f/c) (f/flowers).
"Wha.." I smiled in awe, when suddenly the door closed behind me. I turned to see Ian, smiling sheepishly.
"Ian.. it's wonderful."
"Really? I think I could make it better."
"Huh?"
Ian dropped down onto one knee.
Hooooleeeee shit.
"(Y/n)... you're the love of my life. Ever since I laid eyes on you you've amazed me with your personality, your adventurous nature, your face," he chuckled. "You've been there for me in my worst, my best, and although we've been on many, you've been my favorite adventure. So... will you marry me?"
I laughed through my hands in shock, then nodded. "Yes... yes yes yes!!"
Ian smiled brightly and stood, sliding the gorgeous ring on my finger.
"Alright... are you ready for our next adventure, fiancé?"
"Absolutely."~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~
