They all knew this day would come. The inevitability of it had been dragging them down for the past couple of months. They knew the day that they had to send Namjoon away would come sooner than the rest, and they certainly weren't ready for it. Everyone was super excited and proud of Namjoon for getting into such a good school. They were also proud of him for stepping out of his comfort zone. He would be in a completely different environment with a totally different language. Luckily, he had taught himself English but that didn't make him any less nervous. He also knew that he was going to miss his friends. He would be very far away from them. He would miss his boyfriend the most, in all honesty. He spent the most time with Jin because they lived together. When Jin's parents died, he had nowhere to go. Namjoon's moms loved Jin and decided to take him in as their own. Well, not necessarily their own per se. That would've been a bit weird. But, he moved in and they took care of him and any and all needs of his.

Namjoon had begun packing his bags in the second month of summer. About a month or so before he actually had to leave. He needed to get to America pretty early before the school year started because he needed to settle and get a job. He knew that the years laying ahead of him were going to be torture, but he was sure it was going to be worth it. His brain was large enough to obtain all of the information and his heart was surely large enough to work through it. All he wanted to do was help people. So, that is what he planned on doing. Many years of college was worth it in his mind, as long as he was able to save lives in the future. Jin, on the other hand, did not think it was worth it at all. He totally understood that his boyfriend just wanted to help people and that it was a good idea to become a doctor. What he didn't understand was why he had to go to a college that was so far away. There were perfectly good schools in Korea. Namjoon didn't only want to be a doctor, he wanted to be the best. Why? Who knows. But Jin did not like this idea. He didn't know what this meant for their relationship, but he knew that they would work it out.

The day he had to leave would be one hell of a day. His mothers would be a mess, his friends would be a mess, and Jin, he would be a total disaster. Everyone would congregate at the Kim house. Dubbed "The Kim House" by Jungkook long ago. Although everyone in the house had the surname of Kim, not one of them was blood-related. Due to the Kim moms being married, Namjoon being adopted, and Jin joining as a boyfriend. The mothers, of course, were in the same position as Namjoon and Jin, they both already had the family name Kim before they were married. Call it fate or call it one hell of a coincidence.

Everyone showed up at The Kim House with gifts. Farewell gifts. Although it would be hard, they were determined to get through it. They had to. If there wasn't some sort of tragedy happening, could you even call it life? His parents and Jin were going to send him off at the airport, but the rest of the group had to say goodbye at the house. As soon as everyone walked in, they were hit with the sweet and savory aroma of Japchae. They were warmly greeted with hugs from the moms. They sent everyone into the dining room. They had planned on eating a large lunch together and then spend some time to say goodbye. Namjoon and Jin were late to their own house party. Which was very surprising, because Namjin hated being late. When they finally arrived Jin had a slight limp, enough for everyone to notice. Sending Yoongi into hysterics. Jungkook couldn't bring himself to laugh. He totally understood that if it was his last night seeing his boyfriend, he would probably have a limp too.

Lunch went as smoothly as it could've. Everyone laughed and talked about memories. Things that they would miss. Everyone still had a few weeks until they would settle somewhere new, but they couldn't help but feel like this was an ending to something. It was the end to life as they knew it. It was the end of everyone being around. The end of being able to call someone and see them in the next ten minutes. Namjoon leaving felt like their world was turning upside down and all they could do was hold on to anything stable.
