I text Grant about what i'm doing and when we can talk. I get up and put some clothes on as i don't have a uniform yet. I get some breakfast and brush my teeth. I walk out of the door and hop in my jeep. I drive the 30 minutes to town and pull into the hospital. I get greeted by Ian and he takes me inside. "Here's a uniform." He hands me a standard green paramedic uniform and i quickly change into it. I step out and me and Ian head to our ambulance.
"We will take it in turns to drive, swap after each call, you drive first." I get in the drivers seat. After 15 minutes of being available we get our first call in. Ian taps on the screen "85 year old female, fallen on kitchen floor unable to get up." I put lights and siren on. It takes 10 minutes to get through traffic and get to the house. Ian get's out and goes to the front door. I follow him with a medical backpack. He gets greeted by a roughly 30 year old lion. he shows us to his mother.
He tells us her name and i crouch down next to her. "Hello Doreen how are you feeling?" She looks at me. "I'm feeling like an idiot." She laughs and we laugh with her. "Okay Doreen any back pain or neck pain?" She shakes her head "Just my wrist." I look at it. "You okay if i just feel around and see where the pain is?" She nods and i do so. "Okay by where you describe the pain it's a sprain, not too major i recommend just resting up and taking pain killers for the pain ok?" She nods and me along with Ian help her up and sit her on the couch. We say our goodbyes and i get into the passenger seat.
