The next day after work, Meredith and Cristina fumbled through each other's closets, looking for something to wear. This thing although suggested to be small, was most definitely going to be a rather fancy big night.

"Would you two come on." Owen shouted in. Meredith and Cristina let out a laugh in response. A laugh he knew meant they are not even nearly ready.

"Wear the grey dress you look sexy in it." Meredith urged.

"I always look sexy." She pointed out. Making Meredith laugh. "What are you wearing? Derek will probably be there you know."

Meredith ignored her, as she continued to pull dresses down from the racks, looking at each for no longer than a second and throwing them to the bed. She was trying to rid her mind of Derek and Cristina definitely wasn't helping.

"Hello? Hi." Cristina threw a cushion at her.

"I don't know Cristina as you can see I am still searching...."

"And derek? Is he going to be there."

"Obviously, it's his brother- best friend whatever."

Eventually she chose a black dress. A beautiful simple, captivating silk that fell just below her knees, the dress fit her body extravagantly, carving detail to every part of her, she felt good, she looked amazing. She lightly curled her hair, leaving it to fall around her shoulders.

"Jesus Christ.. mcdreamy is going to lose his shit." Cristina squealed.

"Could you be anymore childish if you tried."

Meredith smiled as she watched Owen take Cristina in with his eyes, how happy they seemed around one another, how well they worked. She was so happy for her.

As they guessed Mark's little get together was more like a huge fancy benefit, in his huge fancy house. They expected nothing less from him, and were
thankful for the options in clothing they wore.

They immediately spotted Callie and Arizona. Callie was Mark's best friend, she worked at the high school too, while Arizona, her girlfriend- worked with little kids. They happened to get on very well with Meredith and Cristina, as well as all the others.

"Wow look at you two." Arizona smiled, bringing them in for hugs.

"Look at you guys.. god you're really the hottest couple in every room." Meredith shook her head.

"Yeah it's disgustingly adorable." Cristina added, then introduced Owen properly to them.

Derek shook his head, an entertained expression spread across his face as he walked through the crowds. This was Mark all out. He spotted Amelia, and her husband Atticus, who everybody calls Linc.

"My favourite brother." She announced.

"You're only brother." He corrected her.

"But I'm your favourite sister." She smirked.

Then he spotted her across the room. She didn't see him yet of course. She was speaking to Arizona and Callie. She looked out of this world, so much so, he actually found himself lost in her.

"Derek?" Amelia said again, making him look back at her. "Sorry, was in my own world." He laughed lightly. Amelia and Linc turned to where his eyes seemed to be preoccupied.

"Ah Julia's teacher." Linc teased.

"Don't you start." Derek laughed. When he spotted her heading to get a drink after speaking with Mark, he took his chance to go up to her. "Now I think you're definitely following me." She said simply smirking up to him. Trying her best to keep her eyes on his face and eyes, especially when he's dressed in that baby blue shirt.
