"So." Apple said out of nowhere, aiming at casual and missing by a mile.

Ever since we met outside the library, she's been giving me looks that indicate that she saw the whole interaction I had with that beautiful stranger -- Sunny -- and was clearly just waiting for the right moment to ask.

Apparently, the right moment she chose is right here in the café we always had our lunch and with Wayo sitting beside her across the table.

In hindsight, I should've known this was coming. She always sits beside me after all.

I looked up and feigned innocence.

"Don't even dare think that will work, Mister."

I placed my hand above my heart and charmingly pretended to be hurt. "Mister? Why, milady, you've downgraded me."

"Yes, because my Prince would never hide anything from me."

I sighed audibly, just for show. It's not like I have something to hide at all, Apple was just reading too much into the whole thing when it's actually just nothing.

Great, now Wayo is looking back and forth between the two of us as if he's watching a tennis match. And an amusing one at that, too.

"So." She tried again, more firmly this time with clear intent on getting information out of me. "Care to share who's Mr. Hottie back there?"

You know, for someone who's two years ahead of these two, I couldn't seem to be the upperhand. Maybe M and my other friends were right. Maybe I have gone too soft.

"Why, milady, are you jealous?" I teased. "Don't worry, you're still the only one for me."

Wayo faked gagging noises on her side while Apple just stared at me with a deadpan look.

I sighed, giving up the charade.

"He's no one, okay?" Going back to the Economics book I'm reading that I forgot to return in my haste to leave. Thank God, it wasn't due yet.

"No one, huh?" Apple scoffed. "Doesn't look like no one when he handed you his phone."

I smiled teasingly, but she cut me off with a sharp, "Don't even."

I sighed once more. Damn, if she only pays this much determination in her class, I wouldn't have needed to tutor her during exams.

"Okay." I said, giving up and giving in since I know it's futile to even deny her of what she wants. It's either I tell her or she go full-on private investigator, searching for the guy and demanding answers. Yeah, no, our little interaction earlier is already embarrassing enough as it is. No need to add some drama on top of that, thank you very much. "His name's Sunny and he asked for my number."

"I know." She replied conceitedly, smirking, too, like she's so proud of herself, which resulted to me putting my resting bitchface on and with Wayo biting his lip to keep his smile from widening at the scene unfolding before him. "What I don't know is why you didn't give it to him."

"Oh, sorry, should I have made some flyers out of my phone number?" I asked with the most innocent tone I could muster while batting my eyelashes for added effect.

She snorted and replied with, "Oh, wouldn't the whole campus be thankful for that." Wayo chuckled as she continued, "Yeah, no, totally unnecessary. It's already hard enough as it is battling people away and their relentless efforts in trying to get a piece of you and that was just coming from our faculty. Yeah, I don't need that kind of additional stress in my life."

I snorted at that. It's not like it's my fault they find me attractive.

"Stop being so smug about it and spill."
