Ace was flying through the sky, his grey wings beat only a few times every minute, mostly gliding on air currents. He knew where he was going. He seemed drawn to it.

A large hill that the denizens all around thought was a volcano because of what lived inside. Hundreds of Talons sought shelter in there, wyverns were constantly flying in and out, dragons would walk around the border keeping a watch. They all looked up when Ace landed down and walked into the main entrance of the hill.

Ace lifted his grey head and sniffed the air smelling all the smells of the Talons here before him.

 Shifter

Ace shivered, for he could hear the power behind the thick voice. A dragon no bigger or stronger than the others, walked forward. The Talons all bowed as he walked by them, the ultimate sign of respect. He had a simple green coat about him, nothing special, nothing to mark him out of the ordinary.

This is not your true form, I wonder what is? Ace instantly turned back into his human form and bowed before the dragon. He did not dare speak, because he was afraid what would befall him if he did. There is a war coming and you must choose a side. The dragon stopped in front of Ace, Ace kept his eyes trained on the floor and tried to ignore the hot breath that tickled the back of his neck. You have already killed one wyvern, and stopped a dragon from getting her revenge, yet you see the inhumanities in the Talons kept by the Talonhunters and are doing your best to help them.

The green dragon started to circle Ace. You belong to both Talon and human world and this makes you very dangerous. The dragon had no tail, Ace noticed, marking him different from the rest. One day you will have to choose between Talon and human. Make no mistake, Shifter, because either choice will earn you lethal enemies. The dragon kept circling, Ace watched the silver claws hit the soft dirt and sink in a bit before the dragon took another step.

Do me a favor and rehabilitate the Talons trapped in your camp, or else something very bad will happen. Ace kept his silence as he processed this. Ace didn't miss out on hidden threat. The dragon without the tail didn't say what 'very bad' thing would happen and most importantly, who it would happen to. Do you understand Shifter?

Ace shuttered at the words and forced himself to speak. "Yes..." Ace realized he did not know the dragon's name.

Melanthios. The dragon answered for him.

So now we've met Melanthios. First impressions?
