Plight 7

Star slept on a cottage being guarded by Klein.

Klein did not sleep on that night.

"Kuya, didn't you sleep?"

"I slept but not too long," denied Klein.

"I wonder how's ma, are you not thinking about her?"

Klein did not reply very busy thinking how they could survive.

"Kuya, are you not thinking about ma?"

"Star, listen to me, she's not your real mom, so stop thinking about her," he said with a little anger in his voice.

"Since I am not your real sister, does it mean that you don't think about me?" Star asked with sadness then hurriedly go away from Klein.

Klein was shocked to what he heard. Star is getting farther so he tried to follow her as fast as he could. He realized something he should not utter.

Then Star saw a girl holding a basket with fish selling them. She smiled to the girl. The girl talked to her that Star is very beautiful but Star did not understand. Star accompany and helped the girl while selling. The girl is hesitant because Star does not fit to sell fish. But Star still followed her and helped her.

Klein just watched Star what she's doing. The girl and Star although do not understand both of their language started to be friends. Then while selling fish with the girl a photographer noticed how beautiful Shar is.

The photographer smiled at Star and he said she's beautiful. He then took a picture of Star without asking permision. Klein did not notice the photographer taking photo.

Klein is so sorry. While Star is very happy with her newly found friend Klein just grabbed Star's arm.

"Kuya, wait," Star said.

"Stay here, sit here. I'll be the one doing something for us," Klein told Star with a command.

Klein observed what the people there are doing, then he saw the people helping as the fishing boats arrived. He tried to help. He was given money.

After getting money, Klein and Star ate.

"Kuya, where are we going to sleep tonight?"

Klein cannot answer.

"There are a lot of mosquitos, their bite hurts and it's itchy."

"Just eat. We will think of that later."

After eating...

"Kuya, until when we will walk on the streets?"

"Star, trust Kuya, we can do this."

They go back to the seashore. They sat on the sand while watching the sunset.

"Kuya, the sea is too wide, but is there an ending?"

"What do you mean?"

"Can you tell where is the ending of the sea?"

"I'm sure there's an end, but I am not sure where."

"How about our stay here?"

"Star, do you see how beautiful the sunset is?"

"For the others it's beautiful but for the others it is not because it make them sad."

Klein suddenly feel doubt if Star has already get back her memory why she talks the way she does.

"Do you miss your real home?"

"I wish I would miss them but what can I do if I don't even remember them," she answered sadly.

On the other hand, Dr. Deroche is hurriedly trying to attend to an emergency when she noticed a picture on the floor accidentally fell from a man's bag as he brought out his cell phone.
