The difference between being a gay couple back then when they first tried and now that they were older, is the freedom and acceptance that they had.
It was nice for Namjoon to go out with his husband and hold his hand or kiss him from time to time without the awkward stares and judgements from the rest of the people. Specially knowing that Jin's efforts were having those kinds of results.
Jin had been fighting for their rights since he could, he founded the most recognized LGBTQ association in the US and he has been able to do big changes in society.
Of course, it helped that Namjoon was working for the president of the United States as a consultor.
The twins (Yeonjun and Ryujin), on the other side, were rebellious. They had a youtube channel where they would talk about the misfortune of having gay, hard worker parents who constantly were leaving them alone when they were young, and other interesting topics like that. Jin thought that they needed to take them to therapy but Namjoon knew it was only adolescent behavior.
