The search in Wheein's house had been unsuccessful after Hoseok and Jin traveled to the past, so they were talking with the principal in the school where Soobin and Taehyun were studying "I understand your issues, but I need parental permission for me to let you in into the dorms" he said firmly "would it do if their mother calls you?" the principal nodded "Miss Wheein is a known member of this institution because of her hard work so I know her well" he added "I'll wait for her call and then you can come back" He escorted them out the school and Jin called Wheein as soon as they were out "thank you, Wheeina-ah" he said ending the call "we should go back Hobi" Jin said turning to his friend who was looking afar "Jin, I think that guy's following us" he said looking at a guy at the other side of the street "I saw him outside Wheein's house" "And he followed us here?" the school was not near the house so for Jin that fact was a red flag. Hoseok nodded but the guy walked away entering an alley "Follow me" Hobi said to Jin walking into the school and finding a hidden place. Hoseok moved his hands in a circle motion and a portal opened, they walked through it and they appeared in the alley just in front of the guy that had followed them.
The guy was tall and thin, he had wide eyes that made him look mysterious. He looked so young that Hoseok was worried he was just a student of the school. But his concern didn't last long because the guy started trembling until his body became double as big and monster-like. It turned grey-ish and his eyes were white "who the hell are you?" Jin asked, making a weird pose. The monster-like guy didn't reply, just stood there looking at them. "what's that pose for?" Hoseok asked giggling "It's my attack mode pose" Jin had a foot in the front of his body with his knees bent and his hands were in front of him making fists. "Are we going to attack him?" Hobi asked, the creature had not moved and he wasn't sure if he wanted to fight or something else. "Why did you follow us? what do you want?" Jin asked, ignoring Hoseok's question.
Just like if someone had pushed a button on him, the creature attacked Jin as soon as the words left his mouth. He ran towards the oldest, throwing him away and making him crash with a wall. Hoseok then moved his fingers and hands making himself disappear and appear in different places trying to distract the monster, he wasn't sure how well he could use his abilities but he needed to try in order to win. Hoseok opened a portal and appeared next to Jin trying to help him, but Jin was already on his feet and walking towards the beast that was confused because he couldn't get a hold of Hobi. Jin's eyes turned light blue and he walked with confidence lifting an arm making the beast fly in the air trying to balance himself but unable to do it.
Jin used his other arm to levitate himself in the air and got closer to the monster closing his fist choking him just by controlling the air. "WHO ARE YOU?" Jin asked again his voice raspier and deeper than normal. The beast murmured some words but they were not clear "you need to let go of his neck for us to understand" Hoseok yelled from where he was standing below them "Release his neck" Hoseok said again when Jin didn't move. The monster coughed for a few seconds but Jin had little patience and less time "I asked who are you?" the monster smiled widely "I'm one of eight" he replied "we have your kids" Jin closed his fist again in an impulse and began choking him again "wait" Hobi said quickly "we have to ask him about them, Jin. If you kill him, we might not find them" Jin sighed, he knew his friend was right, but the fact that the one that had taken his children from him was in his hands made him want to kill him at that moment "SEOKJIN" Hoseok talked more seriously and Jin had to let go of the other's neck.
Hobi got closer to the beast "where are they?" he asked almost softly "I can't tell you that" the beast replied "speak now before I send you there" Hoseok replied making the beast turn to his side where a portal was open to a place with all darkness and isolation.
The monster laughed "the great Jung Hoseok, right?" he asked "I personally asked to be sent here, I wanted to know what the hype was about. And I must say I'm really disappointed" Hoseok pushed the monster into the portal until half of his body was on the other side "where are they?" Hoseok said ignoring what the monster said "They call me I.N." he started "I am one of eight" he repeated "and most importantly... I'm the distraction" Hoseok then turned to Jin just in time to see him get shot with something on his neck. Jin fell to the floor crashing against it and then Yoongi felt a sharp pain on his neck as well. He saw the portal disappearing and the monster getting out of it unharmed.
He felt his eyes closing and in between every blink he could see another man with what seemed like a rifle standing next to him. Hoseok couldn't see his face but the man took something from his neck and Hobi could see it was a dart. They heard the other two talking "Seungmin, we did it!" the beast said "I told you we would succeed" the other replied.
Hoseok couldn't hear anything more, he just passed out.
