(A bit of a filler this chapter but you're introduced to a very important character in this chapter. ENJOY!)
Kaiden's POV:
"Come on, babe, let me show you around and then we can grab lunch." Sterlin says dragging me up to my feet. We came out of the small hospital room to enter a long hallway with serval doors on either side. The walls were a warm yellow color, while the doors were a pale creme color. It wasn't anything very spectacular, but it was homey and inviting so I guess in the end that's all that matters. I took Sterlins hand as he lead me down the hallway straight ahead a saw the front door; a large creme colored double door with stained glass windows. The sunlight shone through the window causing a kaleidoscope of colors to dance across the white tile floor. To my right was a pair of french doors leading to a large living room that consist of two large black wrap around couches on opposite sides of each other. Along with two matching loveseats and recliner. Between the furniture was a long glass coffee table with different magazines stacked neatly in the middle. Behind one loveseats sat a roaring fireplace, and above that was a large flat screen television, probably the biggest one i'd ever seen.
"We have pack meetings in here when it's cold like this. Granted we don't nearly have enough space for the entire pack to seat which usually leads to pregant she-wolves and children sitting and their mates standing or grabbing a fold-out chair from the basement." Sterlin explained as he wrapped his arms around my waist, pulling me to his chest, his lips ghosting against my neck. Even now I could feel the sexual pull torwards him, but I didn't want to surrender myself so soon. Mate or not it was something he was going to have to earn. And I had no doubt in my mind that he would.
"And what about the children, where do they seat during pack meetings?" I ask placing the back of my head against his broad chest.
"Well, usually with the pups that haven't shifted by the time they're twelve an elder she-wolf will volunteer to watch them." He replies kissing the top of my head. Smiling down at me with those gorgeous grey eyes. I'd need a map just so I don't get lost in them. I returned the smile before pulling away from his embrace, earning a whimper of protest.
"When do wolves usually begin to shift?" I asked curiously.
"Depends, most of the time it's around the age of twelve. However we have had a few late bloomers shifting at thirteen or fourteen. Nothing to be ashamed of sometimes it happens." He said.
"And what about you? What age did you first shift?" I asked.
"Me? Oh babe with my alpha blood I shifted pretty early in life." He stated proudly crossing his arms over his chest.
"How early are we talking here?" I asked with a raised brow.
"Ten." Came he's short and simple answer.
I nodded my head before making my way past a large grand staircase. "The bedrooms and guestrooms are all upstairs. all of the bedrooms has a connected bathroom. We like to keep the first floor for pack business, meetings, eating and relaxation." He said pulling me across the hall where the smell of food was coming from. We entered a spacious kitchen/dinning area with white tiles and matching white cabinets with black marble countertops and an island with black bar stools on either side. The kitchen was complete with stainless steel appliances including a large double door fridge, sink and a dishwasher. Over all the kitchen was pretty moderen. My thoughts were pulled away by the smell of food on the stove. This was the first time I noticed Sterlin's pop, Justin standing in front of the hot stove in front of several different pots.
"Hey, pops what's for dinner?" Sterlin asked seating down on one of the bar stools, pulling me down onto his lap.
"Chicken, mashed potatoes, greenbeans , baked mac-n-cheese and cornbread." Pops answered over his shoulder.
